Unable to swim out of water

So I have an issue with water, when I get in it almost imobilizes me. I can only swim up by rapidly pressing space, but when I'm surfacing enemies can't see me and I can't get out. Any fixes?

Remove the same buttons on different control commands. I almost sure, that you a using space as jump and open commands.

It's weird, I had an issue where it was difficult to swim out of the water specifically in the Camp Crystal Lake level.

I had this annoyance several times with the original game itself.
