Have anyone tried to contact the guy before anyway? It would be very strange if TX or Hendricks didn't give it a try in the past.

They probably did, but I've seen no evidence of it.

PolymerNG is merged into the codebase. Its currently disabled, but the code is in and it compiles. The code as is doesn't affect Polymost or Polymer. I need to do some threading work next, then after all that is done I will be working on hooking up PolymerNG to the code.

So is it the case that you're going to continue working on PolymerNG for SW and then try porting it to eduke?

what does PolymerNG actually do? I'm a little confused as to what it actually is.

PolymerNG is a new renderer I made for eduke32 two years ago. Here is a video of Shadow Warrior running in PolymerNG.

The shimmering water in the pool was the money shot for me.

To be honest, that's almost the whole reason I started tracking your progress here :P
(It's about more than just better lighting now, though)

That model looks awesome :P. I would make him more angry though, he looks way too happy.

Has any thought been given to having support for Nvidia 3D glasses? Or is that a massive undertaking beyond the scope of what you want or know how to do? Or possibly not worth the effort because very few people actually have the glasses.

At one point I had OpenVR(Vive and Oculus) support for Duke3D, I can add that back if you guys want it.

How much do they cost?
I don't like the idea of throwing thousands of dollars out to use VR...

I don't have a VR setup so adding that to SW isn't on my wish list.

I think it was around $125 for the wireless 3D glasses and USB port transmitter. But to make best use out of it I upgraded to a 144hz monitor ( running at 120hz with the glasses ). I was going to upgrade the monitor even if I wasn't buying the glasses. IIRC the new monitor wasn't a lot more than the glasses.

As for VR, personally not interested, third person view is good enough to beat those actors. ;)

I really like my vive headset. When I had Duke3D working with the vive it was really cool to see all the sprites in VR

Oh, nice! That's not actually what I meant by 3D stuff... You'll see :P
(hopefully...)

I forgot, does the port have FBX and OBJ support yet?

Not yet. Right now I'm working on proper multithreading support in the codebase. I'm moving all the game code to its own thread, and the engine to its own thread.

In before IceSW becomes buggier than even SWP.

You and I both know Evan that multi threading has to happen :P. In my opinion, the engine can't move forward otherwise.

In that regard I wish you well, because being threadbound sucks.

As long as you don't "wontonly" destroy the engine...

Speaking of wontons, I could go for some of those right now. :P ;) :D

Also, if I understand this correctly, you're slowly going to integrate your Shadow Warrior support into eduke32?

I'm not arguing it's a bad idea. TX and I considered working on it but the list of new structures that it would require to meet all of EDuke32's considerations is staggering.

And while you dig deep and restructure Eduke32, add in Nvidia 3D glasses support. :P
