POLYMOST HRP BLOOM MOD - DOWNLOAD - 11MB

1)Get Duke3D and EDuke32 installed with HRP v5.4
----> hrp.duke4.net
----> eduke32.com

2)Extract the zip archive to the game folder with eduke32.exe
---->game folder will have these files (and more)
------->opengl32.dll
------->READ_ME.TXT (this file)
------->ReShade.fx
------->ReShade64.dll
------->eduke32.exe
----------->Also "autoload" and "ReShade" folders

3)** 64bit eduke32.exe users only ** First time only **
---->delete opengl32.dll (it's x86 - for 32bit .exe's)
---->rename ReShade64.dll to opengl32.dll

FINISHED
-->Start eduke32.exe
---->check the autoload box
------>do not check the Polymer box

Special thanks to LeoD, Roma Loom and Tea Monster for the work they've done maintaining polymost compatibility in the HRP. This package was easily built upon the Polymost HRP override pack file structure.

Opengl shaders powered by; ReShade by crosire, reshade.me

*note* current builds of eduke32 are not working properly with polymost, this was tested on rev. 5568

edit: as of revision 5771-june 5, 2016 the Polymost issues are fixed in current builds.

Works well with DukePlus also, and I played most of Imperium with it too during testing.

Yeah, I choose ease of install for Duke players.

ReShade is open source and made for open source projects just like EDuke32 and the HRP, this pack fits right in with their licences. If we want to start editing just .fx files or .h headers for custom shaders then we should post that stuff on their page. ReShade allows a ton of effects and even custom HLSL like post processing. This first pack, version 5.4.1 is pretty basic, it's just ReShade 1.1 trimmed down a bit and set up ready to play. I also did a dozen or so HRP image edits to fix some too bright hud sprites that were triggering bloom when it shouldn't have.

Bump, I posted a video in the first post. Here is what I wrote about it on youtube.

This is the last half of the first level from The Imperium, a Duke3D mod from 2011 using DukePlus.

It was my test case for the Bloom Mod because the bright skybox, and outdoor rock texture tended to trigger the bloom if it was set too high.

Here in the video you can see how the anamorphic lens flare is only triggered by pickups or damage, the palfrom command in CON code. It also kicks in underwater as you can see at the ending.
