Apple terminates support for Quicktime. Uninstall it right now or risk getting your PC hacked.

#1

Well I'm gonna miss Quicktime but according to the US government; uninstall Quicktime right now or risk getting hacked b/c of two active vulnerabilities on it.

RIP Quicktime. Nice knowing ya for all these years in the late 1990's / early 2000's.

This is a good heads up for anyone who may have inadvertently installed QuickTime by way of installing iTunes in order to interface with an iOS device at some point.

QuickTime... Almost as awful as RealPlayer and I'll miss it about as much.

@Inspector Lagomorf; Been running Vegas for years without it, it works fine except you can't (of course) import videos which require it to be present. As I don't use that format for anything it has never caused a problem and on the rare occasions I've done if for other people VLC has succeeded in converting the video to a different format.

Could some moderator or admin rename the title of the topic from:

BEFORE: Apple terminates support for Quicktime. - (subtitle) "Uninstall it now or risk getting hacked."to

to

AFTER: Apple terminates support for Quicktime. Uninstall right now or risk getting your PC hacked. (no subtitle)

Please?

Thanks.
