DUKE NUKEM REMIXED. Reduked 2010 - 2016 "Duke Nukem 3D Soundtrack: Remixed"
#1 Posted 19 March 2016 - 12:45 AM
Hi everyone. As many of you already know:
In 2010, I released a digital album Here in the forums and I promised to make a second and even a third album with remixes from Duke Nukem 3D and Duke Nukem II respectively, I was even planning to release an overhauled version of the first album in 2014...
We are already in 2016, real life and stuff (and the consequences of my own personality -aka an endless circle of TOC and procrastination) has slowed me down and even stopped me from working on more videogame remixes remixes. The logic of a whole 30 track digital album (3 albums or a 3 part album in fact) with pristine and catching cover artwork, proper mixing and mastering for each track (a skill that I need to master a lot -pun intended-) that also needs to match the overall sound, the fear of the sense that once released nothing about the album(s) could be changed, the "creation" of a digital label to start a whole new project -which logo never totally convinced me, the lack of a hosting site to upload it (actually I did stop paying the site), literally got me into an iteration trap as Micky C would say, or The Gambini effect as I'd like to call it ... In addition to an issue related to someone in the industry that (indirectly) discourage me to even keep working on this project, plus a somewhat depressive mood from time to time... All that made me stop working on this at some point and not caring about it any more...
Till now...
REDUKED is:
A musical odyssey through Duke Nukem 3D universe...
A personal expression in sound of the affection to a videogame from the childhood and youth of many people (including me)...
A part of my life, It could even be a 6 year child lol.
And I want you to be part of this odyssey.
So I just uploaded most of the tracks to a special account of soundcloud for your enjoyment, instead of releasing the album(s) as a finished product, I decided to show you REDUKED as a process which I have been part, an anthology from 2010 to 2016, every remix with its own motivation, style and moment in time.
If you want to listen to the tracks in higher quality or save them in you HD create an account in soundcloud and use the download button on each track (I know I know... but is 2016 already, isn't it?) Maybe I can upload any track if someone is willing to host it. All the tracks are in .ogg format on highest quality.
Hope you'll enjoy it!

BTW: There's a short semblance of some tracks in the description, (if you are on a pc)

I didn't realize my "iteration trap" phrase had gained traction.

Yeah, call it a mash up, medley or whatever, both are produced by Bobby Prince, I think they got a somewhat similar style and the same key note iirc. Glad you like it.

I did. I think you guys even improved your overall sound a bit, it's a little more softer and smoother.

Well, for the moment is just me, I think the redaction is a bit confusing? but it'd be cool (and I plan to) include another artists in the future and even make collabs. I'll explain later what Noise Boulder is all about. Glad you like it!
@Micky C @Demon Duke @Musically Inspired @xenoxols @Murphy Black Thanks for your comments!

There are more remixes to come. Hint: here's a list of names of the tracks planned to be released (Most are WIP)
And I won't say anything else about them...

Not yet. Didn't have time. I'm sure they are all great, though. I did listen to Back to the Streets. Very clever arrangement!

What I could do is choose the best (already released) tunes and upload them as 2 or 3 EP (with 3 - 5 songs) and make them downloadable.
The soundcloud stuff has been really useful to be sure the tracks sound more or less good on different dispositives, headphones or speakers (you won't believe how many times I deleted and reuploaded some of the tracks due sounding "muddy" or "harsh" on my phone headphones before announcing it) as well to actually measure the popularity of each track. I've had kinda complains by some persons for being uploaded on soundcloud, but I think is an excellent platform both for showing previews and finished stuff, and be discovered on internet as an artist.

I've uploaded an archive that's basically just all of the stuff on his Soundcloud downloaded.
