I don't want to risk an enormous spoil but given how the HUD of what appears to be the new OC in the first video and given the recent events I can decently venture a guess that the new OC could very well be Snowfall, he has been quite active some time ago he'd deserve being in the Team just like Loke

Some of the character HUDS will be redone this episode (and slightly reshuffled as well) This is Merlijn's, as you might notice it's inspired by a certain modern dark fantasy series ;)

It's good to see Merlijn getting some attention. :) He's been pretty active lately so I guess he deserves it. Hope to see his new city map as an EDF mission when he finishes it. :D
Anyway, the HUD displaying the current artifact has caught my attention. Will we be able to see it in every character's HUD or is it for Merlijn only? :huh:
It's a nice addition, especially with the new game mechanichs you're working on - for not mentioning the amount of artifacts the game has already. If you forget if you can afford to be more aggresive in a certain section or how to approach some enemies you'll be able to take a quick decision by giving the HUD a glance. ;)

I've been kind of busy lately. I'm attending a private course to recycle some of my studies in order to apply for a job. And I haven't regained my Duke motivation fully. I'll let you know when I start working in that little something we talked about. ;)

It's definitely something I'm seriously considering now, since I think it fits in quite nicely there :) Another thing I added is duel wielding his swords (and naturally the golden sword as well) as time goes by I'm gonna add more utility to existing weapons since many of them are kinda lacking in neat functions and stuff.

And of course, there's no rush ;)

What I like the most about this new HUD of Merlijn's is that now the weapon being held is no longer hidden, for instance with the slot 7 sword you just see the top of the handle whereas with this new HUD we'll see it entirely almost just like in Whaven.

Speaking of HUDs it'd be nice to give Rusty's something to display keycards because I often find myself wondering if I didn't forget one ^^

Sounds like we're gonna have one of those movie scenes in which we travel arround the desert with Pick-up VS Horse fights ^^

When will the AMC Ranch be open ?

Loved it. The ability to shoot a gun (will it be all the character's aresenal or only 'weak' wepons?) while riding the horse looks really good.
Also, every new line you record for your character sounds better. The shouts to guide the horse are really convincing. :)

Only 1-handed weapons can be used on the horse, like with the motorbike.

IIRC he bought a new headset not too long ago to record lines. Maybe I should think of doing that, since I've recorded all my lines with my iPhone 4's voice memo app Posted Image

Yeah I bought a Snowball Ice microphone that sits on my desk - it cost me a fair bit (about 45) but its quality level is really good. On my channel there's a few videos I recorded with Sang; all of the Serious Sam and KF2 videos are recorded with the new mike and they sound a million times better than the older ones.

I hope you make a level where you have to chase a train, shoot bad guys who are on the train while riding on the horse next to it, and then jump aboard.

Now though - every moving train level I know use that effect which make the surrounding world move around the train; and that's not compatible with horse riding next to it, so you''d have to find another way to make a moving train....

Seriously though, That is gonna be awesome to ride a horse in Ep 3. Looking forward to it. Now all we need is some western like enemies. (Cowboy Pigcops anyone?) :)

Are you going to re-record your older lines like Mikko did with his new voice ? or are you going to leave them the way they are for "historical values" ?

BTW 45 pounds, must be something like 90 I think it's the average price for let's players and other gaming related passionate persons although I find the price to be a bit high indeed, I recently saw a youtuber who changed mike and I felt like the cheaper one sounded better actually :/

That video is so cool. :)

Would be fun to have some enemies mounted on horse-like creatures too. Maybe LOTR-styled wolves or something, haha.

It's a bit like the suggestion Raisher had made about recon drones showing you a glimpse of the level, at least now we won't have to mess up with the loadout in order to be prepared for everything possible, now we can adapt, excellent for first time playthroughs. Gotta make sure the crew doesn't suffer from the brain's fiendish powers though, this could be a possibility for a AMC Base attack mission like it sends a signla while nobody watches or so ...

Does using the brain cost resources of some kind ? Or is it free to use once done ?
Does "new mission possibility" means the mission will unlock another one upon completion or does it hint at things like the floppy disks and passwords in HK ?

It's free to use - basically when you research the project a brain will be installed in the base and from there out you can hit a new button which will display some hints about the mission. Some missions it won't be able to get an accurate reading (basically missions with nasty surprises :P) You'll be able to find the project in missions with precog brains (so Megabase, Ghost ship or Zeta base)

The precog thing in the base never made sense to me - the AMC squad seemed fairly against the EDF research being conducted in Megabase and Ghost Ship, at least that's the impression I got.

The EAF research was doing pretty reckless and dangeorus which was the main issue - when you have the brain performing relatively low-level predictions than the tech is much safer. Ultimately though you don't have to install the tech, so it's up to the player if they want to harnass the power or not :P

Damn... that feature turned out better than I expected. And with an element we have seen previously throughout the game, too. Nice one, James. ;)

About using them being inadvisable... the AMC Squad, by the time EP3 gets released, will have an immense amount of dangerous weapons and researches. So, like always, being good or bad depends on how it is used - using the precog brains to slingshot an airship to distant planets through the Abyss dimension was a BAD idea, lol :lol:

I'll leave this teaser here for archival purposes. As mentioned in the other thread, the episode is roughly half-finished, with the first segment having an egypt theme inspired by games such as Powerslave/Exhumed.

Now I know why James had asked for the Chimp General in the Community Stockpile ... Those levels sure look nice both in terms of architecture and aestheticism, one of them reminded me of Serious Sam a bit with the key at the center of a huge place with ponds and everything
