E1L2: Red Light District - Come Get Some - 1 enemy remaining!

Hello,

I am playing on the E1L2 map named "Red Light District" in the "Come Get Some" difficulty through eduke32-20150905-5339.
I am not able to do a 100% kills in this map because it remains an enemy (98/99 killed).
I remember that this map was "special" because I had this problem before.
In the old days, someone who was aware of this problem told me to use the jet pack and go through the window at the level beginning to find this enemy.
It worked before but today I am not able to reproduce that.
I think people that can load the E1L2 map in an editor like mapster32 can be able to find how to get this enemy.
Unfortunately, I am currently not enough skilled in map editing to be able to use this editor.

Can someone gives me the location of this enemy to kill him?

This is a bug in the original game. The mapper in this level tried to spawn a Recon Patrol Vehicle from a RESPAWN trigger, but that doesn't work. However, it does increment the total enemy count.

I usually trick the game by killing a pig near the door then smashing him with it getting 105/105

Was this fixed in the new EDuke32 snapshots? Also I remember the problem that Eggs don't respond to the respawns as well (also don't allow skill setting despite being used in some E2 maps), also some levels use red (21) palette respawn to Liztroops but doesn't affect the game as they appear in their standard colors.

An alternative explanation is that the spawn was only added for 1.4. That's only a guess, but one can easily check by comparing the maps in mapster.

Demon Duke, how do you exactly do this? Do you kill a monster under door so that door squishes corpse and counts twice? I am confused by what you mean here. And I don't think that works but I know that when you let eggs spawn a slimer, you can get more kills than usual, that if you also destroy the hatched eggs as well. Too bad this trick can't be done in this map as it doesn't have eggs/slimers.



when the door is open kill him and let the door smash him it will count as a kill, you can put on the stats to see for yourself.

Not all palettes work on respawn such as my favorite one pal 24 maybe they were trying. Though there is some trickery to get it to work.

Thank you it works!
99/99 kills :D

So, I don't know why I remember that one day I used a jet pack and pass through a window in this level.
Maybe it was a dream... A duke dream.

By the sounds of things another way to avoid the problem is by not triggering the red pawn in the first place. It might be possible that the jetpack helps with that.

yes, it's possible. only if you don't turn off the jetpack
