I remember the day when I was young, my dad brought home this one game and told me that I was NOT allowed to play it because it was too scary, but I sneaked the game in one day and gave it a go.....he was right.
Not only was the game one of the scariest and thrilling games I've ever played, but also one of the greatest games I've ever played period and now finally after years and years of asking and demanding for it to be remade, IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING!!!!
I'll be watching every single inch of this game's development to make sure Capcom gets it right because everything after Resident Evil 4 has been pretty crap.


I still have TerminX's big boxed PC copy of Resident Evil 2 sitting in my collection along with the other great games, I really hope Capcom doesn't fuck this up because Capcom has been doing pretty good lately while Konami is the new king shit of Japan gaming.

Very cool, RE2 is my favorite RE game. Hope they keep some of the campy feel.

It's going to be bad. Anyone expecting it to be like the REmake of 1 hasn't been following video games for the past 15 years. Or Capcom. Or the Resident Evil franchise.

It's not even going to be "RE4 in the world of RE2", like the other half of the community wants it to be, because even the true RE4-style is considered "dated" by this generation of players and game makers.

If you think the "HD re-release" of REmake was Capcom trying to see if the old style still sold well, you're fooling yourself too. As good as it was, it was just another cash-in on the franchise, and don't forget they ruined it with unfiting "modern" controls and "widescreen" support to catter to "today's standars". This entire remake will be built on features for "today's gamers", and if you ask me, a good part of that is all the hand holding and mouthfeeding which by essence are anti-survival horror.

But don't worry, I'm here to help you gets your hope down so you won't get crushed when you pay 70bucks for it and realize your mistake.

Don't expect anything.

I also find it kind of sad they're back onto Resident Evil 2. After porting it on every platform, and even sometimes even twice on the same platform (at least twice on PS1 and twice on PC); and after remaking it as a railgun game, they're remaking it again.

Or it'll be good. Granted, it's not like there will be an official common consensus either way. I could see it being a somewhat generic co-op shooter, that could happen. But, it might end up being a good game, it's possible. And I actually like RE5 quite a bit, so I'm more likely to dig it. Though RE6 I found quite blah.

I am looking forward to it and I am excited I hope that it turns out well. Though I am nervous also because I also really hope they wont tarnish it which is easily a possibility and that would be bad for a legendary game :S

But I think risks are good right now nobody takes them very much these days in gaming. They should go for it if they mess up they are in for an ear full plus more, but if they do good praise is coming. This is a real challenge, instead of just putting it out making money on the name hope Capcom has good luck they need it.
