And, yeah, Scott isn't there. But he wasn't working there anymore.

Either it's the funniest thing I just don't get or this guy is mentally ill.

It's a mistake, I guess, but who knows...

OK, here's who is in the picture on the front page of the website...
SITTING L-R: Chris Cummings, Randy Forsyth, David Riegel, Pat Jones, Pete Knepley, Jay Brushwood, Dave Ratti, George Broussard, Allen Blum, Chris DeSimone, Brian Hook (pink tie), Scott MacLean, Rob "MacGuvyer" Faison, Andrew "Sonic" Kershner, Bryan Turner, Steve Blackburn, Kaiser the dog
STANDING L-R: Brian Lawson, John Pollard, James Houska, Andrew Baker, Eric Von Rotchkirch, Chris Skelton, Gary Buchanan, Kevin Green, Joe Siegler, Rick Huenick, Chris Smith, Ben "Too Happy" Eoff, Trammell "Tray" Isaac, David Carter, Bryan Brewer, Layne Johnson, Brad Jacobs, John Anderson
Also, here is a page that before right now was a private page, I had it only for internal staff. I've removed that restriction, it doesn't much matter now. It's organized by "function", and within those sections by service time.

Joe was never my favorite person in the world, but that video was just utterly cruel and insensitive. I feel for Joe right now, even though I never really got along with him.
And it wouldn't even dawn upon me to post a "humor" video in such bad taste.
I consider myself to be an asshole to some degree, but this enigmahood guy- wow......

Why would he do that? Because he most likely feels highly insignificant about himself and has to prey on other people's misfortunes to boost his own self-esteem, yet while his deluded mind fools itself into believing that he's being elevated to higher level by posting such inhumane garbage on youtube, he really ends up looking like the total assclown he is- at least to anyone with even a single iota of compassion.
No wonder he doesn't show his face.....

I once asked if it would ever return.
#714 Posted 08 May 2009 - 08:31 PM
1999- System Shock 2
2000- Deus Ex, Thief II, Unreal Tournament, NOLF
2001- Return To Castle Wolfenstein
2002- BF 1942, MOH
2003- COD
2004- HL2, Far Cry, Chronicles of Riddick: Butcher Bay
2005- BF2, FEAR, COD 2
2006- Half Life 2: Episode 1
2007- BIOSHOCK
2008- Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead
2009- Mirror's Edge, FEAR2
I'm sorry, but 12 %#^ years passed and they couldn't come up with a game that was announced in 1997 using the Quake II engine?! I don't feel sorry for them, more like perplexed as to how the hell they managed to say in business for this long without ever releasing a game.
Bioshock and System Shock 2 are considered one the greatest FPS, both by the same developer and took less time. 3drealms managed 2 trailers and "When it's done". That's one hell of an accomplishment. I tell ya what Joe and George, go ask Uncle Sam for a bail-out, they save failed corporations run by imbeciles, you might actually win an award as well, go for the GOLD!
#715 Posted 08 May 2009 - 09:08 PM
Everyone blames this on the economy? Really? Hmmm... last I can recall id Software started almost at the same time as 3drealms and yet they're thriving. Guess releasing games every 2-3 years actually keeps your company fiscally afloat while 12 years with no game keeps you broke. Sigh....
Don't feed us the lame ass "We didn't know" and booo-hooo "What are we going to do" excuse! You're grown men and made stupid ass decisions with the capital made from Duke Nukem 3d. No one forced to develop a game for that period of time. Don't give me that horsecrap "When it's done" philosophy, because games like HL2, and Bioshock got DONE and SOLD WELL. Your now asking for donations, so here's my contribution: Kiss my ass 3drealms!! The only "donation" you could have solicited from me was ACTUALLY releasing the game.
And what was that stunt about with Jace Hall's show? And the trailer? That was the last publicity stunt you had up your sleeves, right?? Give me break!!
I would say without a doubt (with exception from GM and most of the banks) 3drealms was managed out of existence thanks to those 2 morons that built a company on 1 game, more than 12 years ago. And in the end, Boy George and his sidekick Joey have say to fans is this: "Thanks for being fans and for all your support."
F U 3drealms!! If your worried about your economic situation look to none other than yourselves!! Can't pay the mortgage, hmmm should done that 12 years ago. Worried about your family... hmm should have saved up 12 years ago. Don't screw with peoples emotions and good intentions, anyone in this forum better not even think of donating to these 2 clowns. You might end up like Boy George and Joey, broke, pathetic and irrelevant.

Is this kind of speak really necesary?
It's starting to get on my nerves people posting this kind of stuff.
I think many people forget that 3D Realms was making money off other things, like Duke 3D XBLA and before that, i'm sure they made some coins out of Prey and stuff.

Not enough, apparently. Prey was not a bomb but was not a huge hit either, and might not have made that much profit when you consider how much money they put into it.
What is really disturbing to me is that how long is it since 3dRealms brought out a game they developed IN House? "Max Payne" they just published..they had nothing to do with the actual design of the game....and "Prey" they ended up sending to another group to finish when they could not finish it. Not a good record.

No, indeed it is not. But 3D Realms developed less games than they published (I seem to remember Joe talking about it some time ago). Shame they couldn't survive on that method.
I find nothing wrong with been annoyed at the people responsible for all of this - but we don't know who it was yet, and therefore pointing fingers goes nowhere. (You didn't, i just thought i'd add this whilst it was in my mind. It's 6:41 AM here, and i'm off to sleep).
