Well, I hate facebook, but now I'm glad I didn't delete my account... Guess I'll be firing up the Ol' SoundCanvas.

P.S. Who wants it rendered on a YMF262, recorded to FLAC via SPDIF... And the GUS (Though that'll be analog) I know I do!

Do you take requests for OPL3 S/PDIF FLAC recordings? For a while I've been looking for a solid recording of clouds.mid and the soundtrack to Raptor: Call of the Shadows.

Sort of... I was recording Raptor for you a long time ago, I had to play the game to actually record the music and I'm not a fan of that genre, I got a lot of it done but tired of the game and ended up forgetting about it, don't know if I still have those around on the drive given the recent problems with corruption, if I find anything I'll send it over. I'll probably get coulds.mid done within the next 24 hours though, seem to think that's the one that plays from the Windows 95 credits easter egg thing.

I can record from YM3812's too, but obviously those don't have SPDIF output.

Anyone able to guess at an ETA for that? A day? A week? A month? (Please don't make me go higher!)

SC-55 Version of this!!!!

#18

Yes! :) I would love to hear recordings of it on hardware synths like the SC-55. ;) But for now, I only have Roland and Yamaha software synths to play it on. :)

Yey! I'll make an SC-55 version, but just remember that the Atomic CD audio track was written for and played back on a later Sound Canvas model.

I'm kind of more interested in the making of a modern version using new synths/plugins :).

Adlib clone -- YT

Terratec EWS64XL with a sound font (It requires a sound font to output any audio)

Both are recorded from ingame DOS duke to eliminate any possible MIDI player bugs. EWS uses the GS version and adlib has GM.
While not state of the art, these should sound better than the MS software synth :)

AWE 64 Gold YMF262 FM Chip using it's SPDIF output: https://www.mediafir...5khhok12mvykhmt
Roland SCC-1: https://www.mediafir...1loe7bb2v6ey8xv

24-Bit FLAC at 96KHz - About as far as my gear will go.

There'll be a YM3814 and MU90R recording later and I will get clouds.mid done, just having tech issues right now. I just built a new box to house the GUS so I shouldn't have too much trouble getting that one to work.

Why did he need "likes" to release the track?
Sounds like he is just trying to "like" farm to me to generate revenue.

He wanted there to be enough interest in it for him to convert, license, and release this. Otherwise he just wasn't motivated to.
Also High Treason, you should see if you can up the voice limit, because the midi breaks that limit, hence the loss of notes in your renders.

Hi you all.

This is neat!

Did a couple of recordings just now. I might dig around some old crates to see if I can find some other sound cards to record with. ( almost 2 am here so not today)

Sound Blaster 16
Sound Blaster AWE64 (32 mode)
Sound Blaster 16 with a OPL 4 daughterboard
Sound Blaster 16 with a NEC XR385 daughterboard (DB50/60XG clone)
Sound Blaster 16 with a Crystal daughterboard

Cheers ! :)

There's no malicious intent here. What does he gain and what do we possibly lose by asking for likes and shares for news that SHOULD be spread?

When you get a certain amount of likes on a like page you get the option to display ads or something and then generate revenue.

More likes = more money

Would the revenue be large enough to be significant?

Why are you harping on this? Do you have some sort of personal vendetta against Lee? Who cares if and/or how much money he's making off of this?

All that matters is that he's giving us something fucking awesome and charging us nothing for it...something he was under absolutely no obligation to do.

People like you who question every possible motive while trying to turn irrelevance into relevance make people like Lee reluctant to release anything great - and at no cost, to boot.

So in other words, your dubious attitude just causes everyone to suffer in the long run.
