Was driving along minding my own business... somebody can up behind me and I jumped out of my truck and blew out their front tires.... they jerked to one side and drove off a cliff.

But I wasn't paying attention... somebody else drove up behind me and ran me over.

Also, Clive Barker's Jericho demo... love it. Will be buying this game.

Finished HL2:EP2.
It was pretty awesome. I really like the trademark HL game play, nobody does it better, although sometimes it all felt a bit pretentious.

The Strider thing near the end was stressfull, didn't like that so much.
Loved the ending script. All the little cutscenes were really cool.
Every FPS game should be an adventure like this, every other style of game/story play is inferior imo.

Portal, is nothing special. If it came with 50 levels, it would be.
Don't care for possible custom levels. They'll all be frustrating because the creator wants to challenge you.

Better, much MUCH better.

The graphics look similar but with improved effects, a better visual style and some really cool looking effects.
Weapons are revamped well, this demo gives you a chance to play round with the assault rifle, shotgun and crossbow.
Timeshifting abilities wise it's much improved, the feature seems like it has been revamped to were it's actually useful and not just a "OMG!!" feature.

Also this demo is about three times as long as the first demo... so it gives you a good feel for the game.

Yes, you should. Because Episode 2 is the best HL game yet. Easily.

And are the sounds and physics very different? Because in the original everything felt like it had no weight, and weapons weak.

And is EP2 & EP3 the same now? So the story does "end"? (without spoiling, of course, as I'mm play it in one of the coming weeks )

TimeShift... the weapons seem to have more kick to them, the sounds have been redone and are much better.
Physics wise... they seem alright. Not great or amazing.... but they work fin for the game.

EP2 is EP2 only. The ending is a cliffhanger that leads perfectly into what will become EP3.

Ah ok, It's because I heard once Valve would make EP2 and EP3 the same game.

Yeah, there was a rumor that they would combine the two episodes.... but that was proven to be false.

I just played more UT3 demo...

Demos, demos, demos! My God - Timeshift, UT3, Jericho & PK:Overdose all released around the same time!

Timeshift is truly the gem of the lot! After playing it through several times, I snagged an infinite timeshift trainer for fun. The time stop is truly a wonder to behold when there's [pun]time[/pun] enough to really look around and appreciate the world in it's frozen state.

Recently... Painkiller: Overdose demo.

Found it okay, not as great as Painkiller... but it's fun after a while.

But your right Crunchy, demos galore here lately. Bottom of my desktop goes like this...

Crysis Beta, UT3 demo, CoD4 demo, TimeShift demo, Jericho demo, FEAR: Persues Mandate demo, Painkiller demo.

And tomorrow... Hellgate: London will release a demo... and next week.. the official Crysis demo. Now, where's my Soldier of Fortune 3 demo so it'll be completel?!

I love being Pyro, it's my most used class... Today i set my record for kills in one go, before dying... Which is 22 kills \o/

This round was intense, and very fun... I really enjoyed it

Sometimes i just feel like it SCREAMS "Predator" at me... This game needs a Predator mod, quick

A fun thing to do is download and play the TimeShift demo from 2006... then play the 2007 demo. The amount of change and improvement is amazing. Saber did a great job improving the game.

I love the depth of field in this one, the game is very polished looking. These are at full settings.


I just love pausing time and tagging enemies with grenades...


The graphics are very impressive. Looks like a mix of FEAR and STALKER...


The rain in the game is great, each drop of rain is a 3D model...

I was invited to the beta by EA, I've done previous testing for them.

Still playing Timeshift - fantastic game!

I also picked up PK:Overdose against my better judgment. Thus far, the first few levels are better than the demo, but a step down from the original game. Still, some mindless shooter fun never bores me. I just wish there was a way to shut Belial up.
