Anyways. Let's see what stuff Interceptor brings to the table.

Am I the only one here thinking that this might turn out to be a welcome change? I considered 3dRealms being a pretty much dead company for few years now, so this might spring some life into the dry bones.
But still, this doesn't bring us closer to a new Duke title, though.

No, I thought it could be a good development. Just on the face of it, "3DR" gains a production arm (OK, it's the other way around, but that's the effect).
I'm thinking that we'll hear something about the new Duke game, I personally doubt that the timing of this and the court case aren't linked in some way.
If nothing comes of that, then Interceptor can happily churn out new games based on old 3DR properties, which I think would be cool.

In other news, fuck Interceptor.
Interceptor has been nicer to the community than 3D Realms ever was. What's with the hate?

We will send out an official press release tomorrow.
Meanwhile, I would love to hear some feedback from you guys.
What would you like to see from 3D Realms in the future? Both in relation to games, strategy, the forums and the legacy.
EDIT: I made a new thread for this

I don't have any feedback, but I do have some advice.
My strongest recommendation would be to remove and distance yourself from George Broussard as much as possible. In my opinion, he leaves behind a tarnished legacy and an even more tarnished reputation.
He never apologized to us for everything he did to hurt the community. After five years, I am still waiting for his apology to the fans and to the former employees of 3D Realms. Do not allow the new 3D Realms to be tarnished by this man's, in my opinion, failed image.
I would like others in the industry to do business with 3D Realms, but I don't see that happening if George Broussard is in any way attached to the new business entity, even as a mere "consultant." If you want the new 3DR to succeed, do this when you are making big decisions for the company:
Ask yourself, "What would George Broussard do?"
Then do the exact opposite of that, and profit.

Blake Stone 3
Another Shadow Warrior game, but this time with the older Wang and not so linear levels.

Well, I can't resist with my nasty questions:
In the Danish copyright laws, if you transfer your copyrights and the receiving party has not done anything with it for three years, you have the right to ask for said transfer back, with a six month notice. Considering the referral to the Duke Nukem franchise by Nielson, any plans to send Gearbox a letter like that?
You don't have to answer, time will tell.
Once more All the best.

I think it has to do with 3DR being a classic name (even if they haven't done anything of note in recent years, it's still like a part of gaming history) and Interceptor's record so far has been less than impressive, with several failed mod projects and one mediocre remake. With this in mind I can understand why for 3DR fans this feels like a slap in the face. I gotta admit I too am shocked.

It's exactly as Sangman and James have stated, also the fact that he was caught out in a lie where he stated he was a active member in the Duke community since 96 and released mods and maps which all proved to be false so far.
Still trying to work out how some two bit company could have bought 3DR when all they have had to show is a broken game on Steam and screenshots of another failed project.
Want to see the future of 3DR?
Just look at what happened to Westwood Studios after EA bought them out.

Well as far as I know Triptych is still working in the Gearbox office, a collaboration between them and Interceptor might be good.

Still, Gearbox is the one in control of Duke, so I wouldn't bet on 3DR/INT in that case. Maybe Duke is one of those franchises that's forever tied to the decade and time period it was released in. It happens, and just because it doesn't see a revival means that its dead. That's what ports exist for, and we've all been lucky to have had access to those.
In any event, Tryptich would be the ones that I would have ultimate faith in delivering a new Duke game, since that consists of some of the original [developer] members anyway.

That doesn't explain the personal insults Fresch received basically from the moment his name came up in relation to Duke Nukem: Reloaded.
Anyway, it's good to know Earth No More now has a new home, I don't think that Gambitious is working out TBH.
Perhaps Interceptor can team up with Radar Group for a shot of Original Thinking™ and we'll finally witness the dawn of Game Industry 2.0.
