I think that they need to make a remake of DNF 2013.
Because MTR desreves to reincarnate as a remake of it.
And the mod for DN3D deserves to has/have one good remake on Unreal Engine 3.0.
If it will has/have mod tools in future, so that means Vesker & Gambini can make maps with meshes from DNF 2011. And even more...

And I don't think he'll be jumping for joy at mapping on another engine. The only other engine I know he maps for is Source. He barely has the motivation to work on Duke 3D stuff at the current time.

After next media release or release of beta you will understand my point of view.
Also X-Ray Engine (1.6) can be a good platform.

Shoker Weapon Mod
Also you can make big levels on it and good AI features. Ah, 4 renders:dx8,dx9,dx10,dx11.

In general, the assets looks pretty good, I think the texture resolution could be higher in some spots, though.
