Since we're on the subject, you can only activate offline mode while your 'online' which is f*****g stupid. I discovered this hidden gem when I moved house and was without Internet connection for a month and as a result my entire steam library was unavailable to play.

You don't need to be online, but you need to be auto logged in.

'Also, counting the list, there's a total of 103 games listed there, the thread is also pretty old so the number of games that are DRM-free have probably grown exponentially by now.

Why would they grow exponentially? Do they breed?

By DRM-Free, I mean DRM-Free. Those games listed in that thread aren't tacked down to Steam. You could download those games to a custom Steam Game Folder(Steam allows custom install paths per-game now.) and uninstall Steam completely, and still be able to play them

I still want the installation itself and not the installed game. Going through registry and then change stuff based on OS's version. You can call it drm-free of course, but as I said Steam isn't saying what game DRM-free or not, they push for steamworks/ceg use. That's why DRM-free games on Steam are exclusions and people need to actually find those out themselves. I don't like this approach at all.

As a rule, Steam games aren't drm-free. That is why I'm blaming Steam for having DRM. Which isn't diminishing its fantastic approach in other areas of digital distribution.

Windows phones could be amazing if they implemented a few minor O/S adjustments but added full, phone functionality like removable/expandable memory, ability to view/edit sim contacts, bluetooth file sharing, removable battery and mass storage (features that apple will likely never let you have). If they did this windows phones would begin to fly out because rather than copying apple they'd be giving you something that apple never will!

You seem to consider that microsoft phones just need a few things added/changed to be great but after I read the whole list of features that you've enumerated there, I have to admit that I was blown away when I found out exactly how much basic stuff they are actually missing lol.
I never actually cared to check anything related to microsoft phones because I already expected them to be shit based on their poor adoption rate when compared to android phones and iphones.

But at this point in time, I think it's pretty funny to have this debate considering that after the recent news of Microsoft buying the Nokia phone division, it's very clear that not even Microsoft thinks their phones are good

I thought Windows Phone was just an OS, not actually hardware like iPhone. Nokia smartphones had it, AFAIR.

I purchased a new windows phone as I used to have an old windows mobile phone many years ago.

Much of the O/S is pretty sweet, it's just unpolished in a few key places. For instance, when you go into settings then leave settings then go back into setting via tapping the apps icon then leave settings again but then go back into settings again through the multitasking interface you end up with several settings windows open in the multitasking interface but they're all open on different settings windows and will then overwrite other apps that are currently running in the background!

On the iphone if you go into settings and leave and re enter settings and leave you'll only ever end up with one instance of settings running in the background not several all open in different stages that'll overwrite your other open apps lol!

Microsoft should have made their phone attractive by offering us every single key feature the iPhone doesn't give you, they shouldn't have copied apples iPhone strategy.

If I wanted something like an iPhone I'd purchase the bloody iPhone lol (which is what I've currently got).

You should have gone Android. There's no apps for that thing. Have fun playing Mildly Irritated Birds.

The iPhone is a good phone, of the features it does have, it does better than every other phone on the market.

I've had several android handsets (including the first android phone ever released), but android still feels unfinished, buggy and has no consistency across the many different handsets!

Also, getting an android phone updated can be a nightmare, some handsets get updated immediatly while others sometimes wait months and months.
You also wait far too long for an android to update its O/S anyway.

At least apple updates are consistent and timely.

The iPhone is good if you have boatloads of money to spend on apps that are priced terribly because the computers required to develop for them are equally terribly priced. It's a shitty phone for developers (Obj-C sucks, XCode sucks even harder) and is openly hostile to any development environment that isn't approved by Apple (which is everything that isn't XCode).

Oh damn, I LIKE THIS LOGO!
Your best work ever Brownfarted!

Btw, watch Bill Gs video without sound and notice his gestures.
It's kind of a begger, hoping for something to me.

And with sound... it's just bla bla bla blaaa.
Maybe someone should make some subtitles to this video that goes like this:

"In the past Microsoft copied basicly everything fom his competitors badly and pushed it into the market with some foul deals.
Starting from a windows based gui, which we copied from the Xerox Alto, up to the Windows-Store which is basicly the same as the App-Store in MacOS-X and yeah, Modern-UI, we got this idea from the cell-phones.
I know, we're almost allways more then 1 step behind of the latest trends and developments and our Internet Explorer was a main break in internet development, but hey!
We got a new guy here!
He's a fan of cloud-computing, a fan of 'we-got-all-your-data' and he knows best how to make you even more edicted to our stuff!
So I'm begging you to keep buying our shit and don't take a look around, especially on all the free stuff out there.
It's not good for you, trust me,
I'm Bill Gates,
I know whats good for me.... uhm.. I mean you."

It just seems they're all attempting to emulate apples strategy and business model, instead of their own ingenuity.

Microsoft had become so lazy and complacent with the success of old windows phones as they had no real competition but apple came along and the rest is history lol.

Wait Apple has a business strategy?

Last time I heard they are giving in to google and the almighty power of android after trying to shutter google with lawsuits.

http://www.extremete...r-steve-wozniak

It is also sad to see Microsoft going the ways of Apple... (Closed Source and stuff)

Oh well atleast we have Google who just bought out boston Dynamics and few other companies in order to better the world.

I welcome our google overlords!
