Solid State Drives  "Best SSD Brand?"

Okay, that was pulled out of the ass, but based on my anecdotal evidence people(2-3) were more interested in RAID1 than RAID0. RAID0 of course gives a better performance all around, which it trades in for reliability.

I was always afraid of RAID0. Probably should try it since I do backups anyway.

I run RAID0 constantly for an OS drives and Steam 2 to run big AAA games with max copy speed just get cheaper drives and stack them if you want a real performance boost

900/mb R/W with sata3 and max 550/mb R/W with a SATA2 setup, personally don't give a shit if they fail i just make sure anything important goes onto a nice 2tb HDD

I do have six HDDs at work combined into RAID0. :P

Now I feel sort of dumb, because it makes real sense in going RAID0 at home.

I have a headless 3TB file server in my house running RAID 1. It also has a 320GB drive for the OS. The hard drives cost more than the rest of the system combined. It's got a dual core Trinity APU I forget the model number of.

We also have a secure FTP on it and there's always people from China and Eastern Europe trying to get into it. I guarantee you it's Kathy trying to steal pictures of my Johnson.

Thinking a/b getting this Crucial M500 480GB SSD 2.5 for my Desktop PC. Samsung's SSD software controllers didn't like DOSBox.

I'd go for it. My Crucial drive is still running strong.

Viper. I just put in the Crucial M500 480GB. Needless to say: this SSD boots up faster than a guy running to the shitter after eating White Castle. Crucial's SSDs is king!

You should buy one of the M500 480GB for $260 on sale.

Got my wife a M500 240GB the other day... she likes it. My "desktop" (a HTPC currently) has an Intel 530 and my laptop has a Plextor M5M. They're all pretty good, really.

I have a Crucial M4 SSD from 2011 or so. Still works. No issues with it. Solid as a rock.
