The new voice is a bit of bummer. John William Galt is in his seventies, but the new guy seems pretty vanilla. Hopefully the script picks up the slack. At least their will be other talkative characters in the game (the demon companion, Zilla, Yakuza henchmen) to balance out the seemingly dry Wang. Their hasn't been a fun shooter protagonist in ages. Hopefully Shadow Warrior can deliver on that front.

I am currently playing the original SW (Redux) again. Humor there is priceless, and I think it shouldn't even be attempted to match it unless you have the same voice actor. After all, this is meant to be a reimagination of the first SW, not a sequel, if I understood correctly. Therefore, it can be a different Lo Wang than the one we used to know. Personally, I liked the approach to play an older guy who is unsuccessful with women. Maybe not the kind of guy people want to identify themselves with these days, but who cares - it was something different.

I will still buy/pre-order the new game because I see the potential and I hope that they will do it better than the ROTT guys. Anyway... dreaming of a DLC with old Lo Wang char model/skin and the original voice actor... xDDDDDDD

My main problem with the new voice actor is that he sounds like a US-born asian, which Lo Wang is not supposed to be.
Accents are not racist, not acknowledging accents as a valid way of speaking is racist.

All I mean is that racism is a lack of equality and when people are overly protective of a certain group they aren't really treating them with equality. Not that being protective is bad, just overdoing it is. I think we basically agree it's just semantics getting in the way.

You know, I kind of want to pre-order this (I've been a good boy with my money and I deserve a present, maybe). But I am inclined to wait. The "Get 75% off Devolver Digital game or Hard Reset" special is unappealing. I already own Serious Sam 3, I don't need Shadow Warrior on Steam because I have it floating around with ProAsm's port. Nothing else in their catalog that I could get at a steep discount is appealing.

I might go and hunt down more information is there is any...

Steam has it at 15% off. Comes down to $33 which isn't bad, a bit more than I usually pay for games (I did drop $60 on Wasteland 2...but that is different; Brian Fargo can't possibly fuck that up). I tend to not pay more than $20 for games because until 4 months ago, I didn't have a real job and steady income.

I'm leaning towards pre-ordering because I do need a new game to play that isn't frustrating. At some point this weekend I'll likely flip a coin and vote and then buy it while it is at a discount. Just won't use that 75% off coupon for other games.

I'll take it. That would sweeten the pot. I'm curious about it. Curious enough to spend some money. Besides, I never finished Shadow Warrior...still have it sitting around but I was always a little more interested in making maps for it (got it after Duke so the new Build improvements were exciting).

I've been playing Mortal Kombat to entertain myself with my roommates but I think I need a new violent game to play when I have no friends around to beat up.

Well i have to wait for it to get 75-90% OFF. I simply can't afford that, and even if i could i would never pay that much for a game that i used to love, but without the humour it's just not.. Shadow Warrior. It's as if they abuse the IPs name. Not being rude or anything i just think the game is worth 15-20 $ at max. You have to upgrade for getting 2 uzis? Really? Well, i hoped this was like RoTT but just with no issues. It isn't, it's another game. I hope to pick it up at a winter sale for 75% OFF or a humble bundle in near future. Hope you guys think it's worth preordering. I got fucked every time i preordered. A:CM, Duke Forever, Rise of the Triads (this game still has potential though). I will wait a few months so nostalgia kicks over and people start commenting on issues and stuff like that.
