I know someone who could use it if you haven't already given it away.

You've already won a 'Green' giveaway that you gave to someone else anyway :)

I'd rather the code go to someone here who doesn't already have megaton. I'll wait 24 hours or so. Maybe I shouldn't have quoted the pic in the first place =P

Does it matter as long as it gets used? It will be used if I get it. The person I want to give it to is a member here actually.

Edit: Well, you can go ahead and give it to someone else if you want. I tried to get my friend, Jacket, to post here, but he couldn't remember his password nor the password to his email.

Haha, sounds like a big Duke fan Posted Image

Anyway at this stage I'm thinking of maybe donating the code to any of the eduke developers who don't have megaton and are doing work on trying to make the two ports somewhat compatible, if they think it will be useful. I know TX is doing stuff, but he was already given a code. However IIRC Hendricks was also doing something and was forced to collaborate with another member (Lunick?) in order to do it.

In case the EDuke devs already have got a code in the meantime I'd take it and maybe have a look into HRP compatibility (but better not hold your breath for that).

I don't believe megaton should have a HRP. When people are buying megaton, they're buying basically a bare-bones easy-to-set up Duke game that gives you everything you need to play through the original games and its expansions with a few bells and whistles like polymost to make it more bearable to a modern audience. However if you want mods, such as Dukeplus, WGRealms 2, or the HRP, you should really take the little extra effort to download eduke32 and see the full potential of the HRP.

May I humbly request this code?

They're not his. I've had those on the website for over a decade.

They have, however, not been in active use for quite some time now.

Something went terribly wrong. Music is absolutely horrendous right now and it doesn't sound anything like the original Duke3D music was.

Apparently they're using timidity with some really weird settings. I don't have any soundfont on my computer that would make the original midi music sound like what it currently sounds like in the Megaton Edition.

View PostTerminX, on 11 April 2013 - 12:54 PM, said:

It's never going to sound truly correct with TiMidity... Duke3D's .mid files aren't vanilla MIDI, they're Apogee's proprietary EMIDI which TiMidity does not support.

I selected to get Beta updates from Steam Client and updated to 1.0.2.

I noticed the TiMidity version of music isn't that bad at all, but it's not sounds "right" when we had listened the old ones.

At least, it still far better than that stupid pirated Sega MegaDrive/Genesis port of DN3D...

Warning - May cause ear raping...

Still not so bad for Wolfesntein 3D engine.

I kinda like the music, even though it's just excruciatingly watered down songs from the PC. Although I don't remember the song that played on level 9 of the Genesis port...

That version wasn't pirated. Didn't Tec Toy license it?

Regardless, it has the worst music of any game on the whole machine.

I received one too. Now I'm curious why...

EDIT: Could it be related to everyone who have DNF?

I don't know if I have it. I'll check when I get home. But it may be a sign that multiplayer is coming soon do they want everyone to make their friends get the game :)

Looks like it licensed but I just lazy to make sure the whole things when this game only released on South America... :)

The Tiger "grip game" one is totally ear raging for sure... what the hell is that music happened... x_x

The first is a historical milestone in “digital cross-promotional discount technology” as all owners of Serious Sam 3: BFE receive a discount code for Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition and vice versa. We thought that people that love old-school badasses might also like other old-school badasses.

Hmm, I guess that's a smart idea. But why multiple vouchers? And it doesn't help people like me who already have both games Posted Image

Unsure, they didn't get back to me about why you got more Megaton coupons than me :)
