Another Hollywood Holocaust *Sigh*

A lot of this stuff is temporary to try and establish a feel, its probably not as good as the cryengine remake or source map. but I thought some people may appreciate looking at a bit of this.
felt kind of pointless having it laying around on my hard drive not being seen.
I cant ever see me trying release this, even if I do get round to finishing it, but might provide a fly through video.
This isn't the only area, everything except the lobby and the projector room is to about the same level, with some other stuff like health pick ups done.
I will most likely show the rest of if it when I get round to finishing it.

Which one do you know of?
I know only one project for Duke 3D using the Crytek engine, but it uses Crysis 2 assets. Yours, based on the image, look like they've been done from scratch.

Yeah that's the one I think it looks pretty good.
Mine are all custom, but would need a lot of work to match the quality of the cry map.
its full of earlier models of things I've started re-making for the HRP, including the exit sign and bin (this version has no ashtray and 6 openings in the lid )
that can be seen, even uglier orange barrels are around
Added a screen of both barrels, they aren't a great deal different tbh.

I see things differently; an unpolished original can be polished, a borrowed copy will always be borrowed copy. - Mappers like him, are good in mapping; and some are good in creating things from scratch. Your C9 are class A work, IMHO

@Mark., now that spotlights have the ability to remove their shadows, I'd recommend you change the pointlights generated into spotlights; the shape will look much better and more realistic IMO.

I love the idea of remaking or reimagining old levels. A number of years ago I played that Hollywood Holocaust II map where aliens had turned the original level into and alien base. The finale was a showdown with a battlelord in the street. I liked the idea and attempted to turn Red Light District into an alien base. Got a fair ways in and it looked good. But it ended up deleted somehow, unfortunately.

I feel redesigning the levels to a higher standard would go a long way to making the HRP fit better with Duke.

Redesigning the levels is a very dodgy area. First off there are about 40 of them and it would take an insane amount of work to do them all, and of course mappers much prefer working on original projects of their own imagination.
However Duke Nukem Eternity is at least in part a remake of Duke 3D, with several levels sharing prominent themes from Hollywood Holocaust, but using HRP assets and polymer lighting to make visually stunning levels.

Redesigning all the levels would pretty much almost be the same amount of effort as a remake, which would be no small feat.
