What mouse do you use? "Your favorite mouse for gaming?"
#1 Posted 29 December 2012 - 03:56 PM
I currently use the Logitech Wireless M570 Trackball. I still have the Microsoft Optical Trackball Mouse. Because of their rarity. Nowadays, people charge outrageous prices for used and new conditions of those trackballs; thanks to their popularity and rarity among gamers. It's a crime Microsoft stopped production of them a long time ago. I think Microsoft needs to get it's head out of it's ass and start mass producing these again. Don't you agree?
Anyways what kind of mouse do you guys use for gaming?

Cerulian (Maplin brand I believe) 5-Button gaming mouse, my first optical one.

Most of my machines are using the Genius EasyMouse;

A cheap mouse, but very comfortable and still practical if you spend the extra few pence on a middle button or wheel (most of mine are trash finds).

Heh, your first optical mouse? Really? That seems crazy to me. I remember using my first optical mouse on my old Pentium II machine back in 1999... it was this one: http://www.amazon.co...l/dp/B00004W3YK

...
Seriously, this is how most modern gaming mice appear to me. Look at this shit.
Like the OP, I use the Logitech M570 Trackball, except mine is wired.

I'll see your tank and raise you this, which is how they appear to me:

I hate how most optical mice are transparent. I don't want mouse to illuminate my dark dungeon.

I actually have a cool little Sonic mouse (hah) that does that and I think it's pretty cool.
I honestly find it weird for Mice(?) to have buttons on the side of them.

Ye Olde wired Logitech MX518 is still ticking (flaked out on me a few months ago but a good cleaning got it working again).

Although mine is a chrome red model.

Yeah, ever since my first MX500 I kept using the same form factor, so I went through a couple of MX518s. Now I have to use the G5, which is more or less the same.

I love this thing to death. You can get them off eBay for $13. I used MX518's for YEARS, both the new and old models, and they can't hold a candle to this thing.
It's lived through six months of heavy use so far. That means it's better than a shitty Razer product. It also feels MUCH better. There is ZERO wear - every button feels as clicky as it did when it came out of the box, and there are no visual problems. The optics don't get confused by excessive speed. The vulcanized rubber coating is still stuck to the mouse with all the force of a used condom on a summer sidewalk.
Don't even get me started on the ergonomics - this thing ROCKS, plus you'll never bump the DPI button.
My buddy turned me onto this mouse. We now know of at least six people who swear by their "chink mice."

I'm 6 months into using it now and I'd definitely buy it again. Being able to convert to being a wired mouse when the battery dies is an awesome feature that every wireless mouse needs. I'm very, very happy with it.

I ordered one of these and I should get it any day now. If it's as good as you say then I will be quite pleased with my $15.

It runs on standard AA rechargeable batteries, too (and comes with a high quality Sanyo Eneloop battery). I guess there's an updated G700s model now, which probably explains why I was able to get the G700 for $50 on Black Friday, but they added really ugly graphics to it.

A plain ol' wired Logitech one I got at Wal-Mart for $20. I got nothing fancy.

Standard Logitech 3-button scroll mouse. A nice extra feature, however, is the two side buttons if you move the scroll wheel itself to the left or right, which are customizable, but which I just use for 'Back' and 'Forward'. Does wonders for browsing. Never tried using them in a game. Never needed more than 3 buttons on a mouse. I don't even use the wheel.

Mamba nice fan art.

Looks like this in reality

It's great fps games.
You can use it wired or unplug it's wire and it has a charger that lasts a lot.
The scroll wheel has a multicolored programmable led that you can set up to light up in a shitload of nuances.
