PETA the Animal Protection Group? "uh..."
#31 Posted 13 October 2012 - 11:16 AM
I don't eat meat for a couple of reasons - I don't like the taste and texture, it also has too much iron in it and I'll die. I have always wondered what people meat tastes like though...
I fail to see how eating cat (looks and tastes like rabbit), dog or horse meat is any different from anything else, some cultures even do eat these, providing the animals were killed in a humane way and the meat is not wasted I don't see a problem with it, it's just what nature intended.
I actually like animals, I'm one of those people who would take an injured animal home to look after it and release it when it's well enough (a few hedgehogs and once a carrion crow, that was awesome) and would defend an animal over a human, people should be intelligent enough to keep themselves out of trouble, animals, on the other hand, need a helping hand occasionally when people are around. As for stray animals or vicious animals, this is nobody's fault but the owners most of the time (you obviously get the odd dog that's just crazy for example), you can almost always trace the "blame" back to humans.

Caveman used to rape a cave woman.
Animals does it for survival.
We're not animals.
In both cases it's impulse/instinct over discretion. Animals don't rape for the sake of survival. They rape because they feel like it. It's the same with human rapists.
You correctly identified humans as a civil species. Rapists are not civil. Therefore they're only semi-human.

We eat meat for survival. It contains proteines that are not present in other foods. It has been important in the history of human evolution.
And you can't really espace killing thousands of living creates to eat. There are thousand of insescts and mamals exterminated to protect the food plantations. How many bunnies are killed by the tractors and mixed in your daily grain?
Besides you don't really see many groups defending the rights of rats, I guess because they are not cute like a sheep they don't have rights, huh?

Really?
I think that homo sapiens are 'social animals'. Even a low life rapist falls under the category of social animal. The catch, most males think about their family and prefer violent predators, such as a rapist, to be dead.
That leads to the next question, what on earth is a civil specie to begin with? One that eats meat or only vegetables, and based on what civilisation?

Some animals do threatening call when mating.
Well true not all animal rape others. Some may.
But and again animal are in survival mode.
We have more conscious and we see rape as despicable.
If animals we're evolved bipedal creatures w/e probably they will say the same. Raping is wrong.
Is why rapists can get executed (wasteful) or instead of executing them using them for medical research or have their organs harvested to help people on waiting list that need a new heart, liver and or kidney

True.
BUT Tofu has the same amount of protein as meat.
But most veggie food has no Vitamin B12 (as I know of).
Is why lacto-ovo vegetarian can get Vitamin B12.
Also some people draw a line, putting insect below animal lives.
Is impossible to avoid having an animal dying.
I said before. Any animal rather they're ugly, neutral or cute all have same right to exist and not be killed for sport nor fashion.
Is ok to kill abundant animal for food as long is done humanely.

Some animals are social, some solitary.
Some people are solitary but doesn't mean they're all uncivil.
Civil means like respecting other, condemning racism, condemning anything that promotes hate crimes, wars etc.
Condemning any discrimination such as xenophobia, speciesism, homophobia, racism, bigotry and etc.
Also condemning fraudulent such as scamming, stealing, bribery, lying and cheating.
Respecting other race, other species and environment cus without the environment we all die.
PS
Respecting others and respecting the rights of other as long their rights don't do bad things (all mentioned above),

Almost seems confrontational... Probably misreading. Either way, I never said I was against eating meat, I agree with eating it, I just can't do it because it makes my liver stop functioning, same happens if I eat a lot of other things, some of which I like, as it stands I'm likely to be on a form of meal replacement starting in a few weeks for the rest of my life.
I'm well aware of that, I don't doubt millions of bugs die all the time, I always wonder how many get stood on when I walk over grass and I suspect millions die just so I can smoke tobacco. I don't really eat much grain though, gluten intolerence.
I like rats, never understood why they have such a bad reputation.

... and that is what I am getting at, I respect others only for as long as it is in my interest. Bad, is relative. The Government extorts cash right out of my pocket and a rapist is the huge threat for my new pretty girl. I consider both my mortal enemies; and want to see both of them very dead and very buried. But my immediate civilisation applauds the government for collecting the taxes; so this makes me a uncivil human also.
Now, time to eat

But being a "social animal" doesn't set humans apart from other animals. Being the only civil species does.

But on some level animals "see" it as "despicable" too, because they too seem to have sexual norms. The fact that we have given these norms names doesn't change the underlying biological basis. Of course there are quite radical differences across species but in general rape is deemed harmful for survival as far as a species as a whole is concerned. So it doesn't matter whether we're talking about human rapists or rapists of other species; they are harmful deviants, mistakes.

Good idea that's not brought up often enough. In general it costs a lot of money to just keep people behind bars for many years.

I see forceful sex as a form of rape.
And again they are not at our level, if they would, probably they'd see that as a "crime'.
#44 Posted 13 October 2012 - 02:37 PM
If is a minor criminal like a store robberer not a killer I'd say w/e, let them do their time and then free from prison and hope they change behavior.
But rapists and mass murderer I hate paying my tax money to feed these fuckers when that tax cash could go for better stuff such as helping endangered species, helping children hospital, improve infrastructure etc.

I like to eat tasty looking animals, but I do respect animal rights and am strongly against any form of needless cruelty.
If I had to choose between the life of my dog or the life of a random human I would save the dog (Duke his name is of course).
I have seen clips of guys working in a turkey factory in England (Bernard Mathews I think) playing baseball with the turkeys, one guy was tossing turkeys to the other to smash with the baseball bat, people like that need to die quickly.
I can't imagine what it's like to be so lacking in empathy as to be able to enjoy doing something so pointlessly cruel. The guys got caught and fired but I will never eat any of Bernard Mathews produce again.

People.
Eating.
Tasty.
Animals.
Proud to be a meat eater. I also like tofu.
Do you get sick of the other PETA nut-jobs recruiting celebrities and use them to forcefully tell us to go vegan? Choosing to go vegan or vegetarian diet is your choice. NOT a mandatory thing. You can go vegan/vegetarian for however long you like, then return to eating meat.

I meant to type singular woman! Re-read the sentence again, and it should be clearer. (Good catch though!!!) And I doubt she, M. Obama, is into computer games. And I say it again she is a blah blah for PETA - meaning a sympathiser, for all those poor little chickens.
@ Sangman - Yeah Yeah Yeah, you can't open your mouth against B. or M. Obama without being branded a racist. Both are hailed as the savours of America .......
