ORIGINAL GAME LEVELS NOT TO BE INCLUDED.
Now, this isn't going to be a pole. What i'm after here is everyone still around to voice their opinion on which user maps they considered to be the best all-time Duke match maps from back in the day. User maps only. You can name, one, two, five, up to ten. No more than ten, and don't be afraid to say the same maps as others. I'm looking to create at least something of a definitive all time good experience here.
I'm aiming to create a list of ten usermaps. The ultimate rotation for Duke3D.

I suggest to include
Turfwars
http://dukeworld.duk...-t/turfwarz.zip
It was a community project, and I think the map stands out.
We played at my office. You need to have few players and a workable Multi-Player engine to enjoy the awesomeness of the map.

The boss levels and multiplayer-only levels from Duke Nukem 64.

iod2 IMO. It a small map with well positioned spawn points, more than enough shotguns (most spawns points have one), some small (+10 health) medkits over the map and no atomic healths or inventory medkits. If both players are decent it will be impossible to do item control, and its very fast paced because you can die quickly but you can also kill the opponent quickly. It's not the most beautiful map ever but gameplay wise it does very very well.
EDIT: Other fun usermaps which i remember now are: roch4.map, freehell.map, ss.map, courette.map

1) Geoffrey's Dm Ducts with its great use of SoS makes the number 1 DM map by far
2) by an unknown author (and the map wasn't even supposed to be uploaded) Krachtest
3) by an unkown author Library
4&5) My own Atomic Bunker and Canyon Bunker
Not sure what you you mean by 'back in the day' but to me & my friends those were a lot played 4 years ago, so that's 'back in the day' to me.
Also to be honest, after playing countless hours of Dukematches, when we tried deathmatching in the original maps of Shadow Warrior we found it vaguely superior. Too bad SW's deathmatching is so overlooked.

Most of William Gee's MP maps, I can't list the best ones off the top of my head though.

"Back in the day" would be reaching as far back as memory allows for folks. I'd like to avoid any OHMYGODHOOJ maps. Anything too overly detailed. So maps that are fun, breezey, look good on an economy, and would play very nicely with up to 8 players smashing through them. They can be as old as maps from the mid/late 90s, or as new as recently possible.

PLUS it does not has RPGs which means no lucky kills
? IOD2 has RPG's, LOTS of them.
My favorite Dukematch map of all time is LedgesB1. Yeah, a lot of people hate it because any first timer does nothing but fall on their first try, but once you master it, you never fall, and actually start using the steroids to jump from ledge to ledge. Not to mention, the falling style is nothing that can be found in original maps. No other map can substitute!
A few other good maps would be JanousaB, 1BottlesZ, and IOD2. Another one of my favorite maps is Iod-Danzig-Grip-G1, my very own Dukematch map where I mixed a bunch of sectors from 4 maps and put them into one. Iod-Janousab and Ledges-Bottles are good mixes I made too. I will post again if I remember any more good maps..

OOPS, my mistake. I mixed the classic IOD2 with an variant. Still, IOD2 is one of the best usermaps around, at least for 1 on 1.
BTW, Ledges ? Bottlez? I respectfully disagree, no way these maps are among the best DM maps ever.

Ledges sucks, I spent the entire time I played that map falling down and racking up self-destructs. Gimmicky.

I found "WGSecrv8.map" to be most enjoyable with my times playing DM.
There may be a more up to date version of this map, but I do not have it.

I wanted to revive this topic because I've been thinking about this lately. I started dukematching in 2009, and since then I've been very tight-knit with that community and a significant influencer. A few folks from this side have asked me for DM maps, so just for fun, I wanted to put together a pack of what I perceive are the top 50 DM maps of all time. I tried to go for an "overall" greatest hits collection. Not just my own personal favorites, but maps that have been loved and cherished throughout the years.
This pack includes maps of every genre including arena, suspended platform, fast-paced, etc. (no "masked-wall abuse" maps for obvious reasons) Please note that DM maps are not going to have Roch or It Lives level detail. The attributes of a good DM map are good layout, weapon & item balance, spawns, replay value, etc. They might not seem like much at face value, but they are a blast over the net.
The first 8 maps are a set of "honored maps" that I believe are of legendary status. The first map is IOD2, which is the GOAT. The following 7 are in alphabetical order. After that, the remaining 52 maps are again in alphabetical order.
I included a USER.CON file in the zip, which loads all of the maps in one episode. That way the zip can be loaded kind of like a PWAD if EDuke32 ever gets dedicated servers. Yeah I know it's a dream. For now, the zip also doubles as an easy extractor.

Anyone remember a usermap map called Tinz.map? I remember it was really fun in dukematch, it was like a small town with houses and shops and some kind of vechicle driving around.
There also was a map called fort.map which was good which had a fort you could run around with a big wall around it and it had alot of doors and hidingplaces and bridges. Have not been able to find these maps anymore.
