That comment is gold :D

BTW: Duke Nukem + MMO = nah
Duke Nukem 3D is an Egoshooter from the first generation and we still play it, because of its gameplay.
RPG stuff? Hmm, ehm, I guess Duke Nukem has already reached the maximum level when he was born.
You can't improve a character that got balls of steel, no way.
All we can do is to give Duke more levels to let him blow the shit out of the alien bastards.
And mods do make this even more funny.

I think there's just one mod that totally changes Duke Nukem 3D might be cool, I mean the Jurassic Park mod by Melusa.

I'm gonna prove you wrong. My mod has RPG elements. It's not gonna feel wrong at all :D

Hey, there's no saying that mods with RPG elements cannot work. Naferia's Reign - an EXTREMELY intricate mod that is still far from finished - is by far the best example of this, even though it definitely plays so much more like an FPS action-adventure that occasionally you won't even notice that you're playing something with RPG elements.

And attrition has level ups too -.-
The only thing that i see those 2 mods lacking to be a real RPG, is that the maps don't build up for a real RPG game.

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure that Mia Max was writing a joke post, similar to mine. Some people in this thread take things way too seriously.

You are always talking about this "mod" yet I can't say I have seen anything of it.

Why did you even post this?

"You are always talking about this "mod" yet I can't say I have seen anything of it."

Just to be negative in one more thread? Your doing well.

There are a few pictures of my mod out. You can look at them if you want.
Actually now that i think about it. I am about half done with the intro. I have been mapping to finish that level for about a month or something. It's the first map that i will finish. I could post a video of that. It's gonna be pretty small though. What do you think? Still a lot of coding to finish though. But you should get the idea. Theres gonna be a boss in it too. A bit like DNF.

I get the "idea" from looking at some of your previous media now.

I supposed I should feel... flattered NR got mentioned again o.o, but yeah... it's not exactly intended as an MMORPG or too much of an open world story. There might be a hub or two in the mod provided I can ever get back off my ass and get more of it done. But there is the fact I have many other things going on and a lack of accessible resources myself at the current time.

Trust me, it's not nearly as easy to do a complex mod like NR let alone one with MMORPG elements. NR began back in 1997 when the original EDuke might have still been a twinkle in Matt Saettler's eyes. The ability for multiple characters in the same party was impossible back then despite my desire to do so. I'm still even the slightly bit surprised I was able to pull off the effect when I redid NR in 2006, and even then, I have to be given a skeleton piece of CON code someone came up with. [sadly at the moment I cannot remember exactly who gave it to me, but I know for certain the very basic skeleton code for party switching was NOT of my design].

Yeah, like some of these guys said, you have to start small and work up. It might or might not hurt to have a big goal in mind, but you have to take it one step at a time nonetheless. My entire redo of NR after I lost it to a HDD failure in 1999 was all because I wanted to originally learn how to print vars on the screen for a money-display system and display the HP of enemies by hitscanning them [putting the cursor over them], much like DNWMD. That just began to open up into one thing then another and then I finally came to realized [at the time] to get back to trying another shot at NR, considering I just came out of a Doom modding failure and wanted to get back into DN3D. I didn't know squat about EDuke32's code before hand and I had to do a lot of research on the wiki even before a lot of the new commands were documented. :D

So yeah, no flames, no smartass remarks, just general advice. I don't like being snide and sarcastic to new people provided they're trying to not to troll us. >.>

I hope in SOME way this helps you along your way. :D

Lord... It sounds interesting, by the name it seems its fantasy or medieveal or something... So I would only took a peak but not play it much except to see some things and probavly borrow some scripting stuff if possible and granted... If I ever want to make kinda MMO/MMORPG standalone mod/game ...

Currently I am doing my third map and its by far better I think, its unfinished but I will release few screenshots... Thats all for now :D

You can look through my code if you wish, but lemme know if you do intend to use any of it.

Also, NR is based in the DN3D universe, or my own spin on it. Nothing really medieval about it. Maybe some fantasy/sci-fi, but it's definately based in more moden-ish times [circa 1997]. :D

If you want medieval, check this out, it's awesome: http://www.moddb.com/games/wgrealms-2
Although I imagine the next version (which at this rate feels like 10 years away) will be more to your liking.
