Need help with setting up Duke Nukem 3D HRP v 5  "help please with setup of HRP v 5"

All right after about 2 or 3 years I decided to install Duke Nukem 3D again and wanted to play it to get myself ready for the impending release of Duke Nukem Forever.

So I went to http://hrp.duke4.net/download.php

and downloaded this dn3d_hrp5-sfx.exe

Now when I run the installer, it is nothing but a 7zip uninstaller that installs the following files in my installation folder

When I click on the hrp_readme.txt and look for installations instructions, I see this

After installation, you start the game using the shortcut in the Duke3D folder,
desktop or start menu called "Duke3D High Resolution Pack".
Starting the game
directly will start EDuke32 without textures and models.

IMPORTANT: To see the high resolution textures and models you have to change the
render mode to 32-bit Polymer in the "Video Settings" under "Options"
in the game menu. Otherwise, HRP content will not work (properly)!

It is recommended to run the setup utility in order to set up your video, audio
and controls for optimum quality and gameplay experience. However, most of the
settings can be changed with EDuke32 ingame menu as well.

And this is where my problem is. I dont see ANY shortcut in the Duke3D folder, desktop or start menu called "Duke3D High Resolution Pack". And then if I am starting the game directly will start EDuke32, it is starting without the HRP textures and models. How do I solve this problem ?

Also it says "It is recommended to run the setup utility..." . Where is this setup utility ? Please help.

I do know that I have to replace the provided duke3d.grp file with the one that I have from my gog.com version, but I really need help in figuring out where the setup utility is and where the "Duke3D High Resolution Pack" shortcut is.

TIA

All you need to do is run Eduke and check autoload option.

Thanks for the quick reply Norvak. It is very much appreciated. However I have this problem. All those autoload options are not visible in my PC, please see below

Any ideas why ?

My PC is Win7 x64 with nVidia GTX 275. I have changed the resolution down to 1920 x 1200 , still I can't see those options ! Strange !

Weird, anyways you could open a file eduke32.cfg the one just above eduke32 and modify "NoAutoLoad" to zero. Then run eduke again

Yes, this is one of the most common problems people have. Your font size is set above the default size, so the text does not fit in the window.

In Windows, go to Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display

And set your font size to Smaller -100% (default)

Thanks for the reply guys. With you guys help the problem have been solved. However I have minor 2 annnoyances, may be you guys know the solution too.

1. When tipping the stripper, sometimes Duke keeps quite instead of saying "shake it babe" or " you wanna dance". Any idea why. This happens randomly.
2. While quiting from the game, the game simply hangs and I have to use CTRL + ALT + DEL to go to taskbar and shut down eduke32. Any ideas why ?

Cheers and thanks for the help again

Those are both eduke32 bugs that started happening in the last year or so. The first one happens to everyone, and with a lot of different sounds (for example, sometimes when you squish a monster it does not make the squish sound). The second bug only happens on certain systems. It used to happen to me, but not since I got my new rig. There is no known solution for either of them.
