Moderators, please!

Btw, your vote on me reveals one more weakness about the system which I have encountered several times:
Which of the statements did you actually vote on?
-lame joke on bh
-downvoting a moderator
-being opposed to take the mods out of the rep system
:P

I don't remember.
Maybe I was jubilant from the fact that you'll see my downvote. Kinda silly actually... B)

I don't regret downvoting any of the posts that I've downvoted. I've made it clear to the people who do have a problem with it exactly why I feel the way I feel.

Actually, looking back through my previous posts that have been voted on, the people who tend to upvote and downvote me are fairly consistent.

Consistent in what sense?

Anyway, downvoting shouldn't seem like backstabbing or coward anymore. Not that it was that serious to anyone, but still.

The same one group of people upvote me, the same other group of people downvote me.

My feeling is that if people give that much of a damn about who voted which way, they need to take a step back from their computer and reevaluate their priorities. The new feature is more of a novelty than anything.

Couldn't moderators see votes before that?

I never could, or cared to find out.

It was interesting to see that the person I suspected of going around down voting most of my posts was correct. (rasmus thorup)
Maybe that he knows this now he might stop being it, or he can keep being a child about it and continue doing it.

I don't particularly care about it because other people on the site seem to up vote me more than he can down vote me so it balances out.

But I think the change is good because it "should" put a stop to what I just said above.

Honestly, I'm finding my upvotes are more intriguing than my downvotes. In the instances where I got downvoted (and actually realized it'd happened) I already had a pretty good idea of who'd done it, but there were some upvotes from folks that I really wasn't expecting to get upvotes from. Feels nice.

I upvote anyone who I think received an unfair downvote.

Ha, that was an interesting read, I didnt read all of them just the red clusters and its funny while ups are fairly even, most of the downs are by two people just shows you some people who try to come off as smart and informative while posting are just angry little children under the mask of the internet, funny and enlightening.

Yep, it was interesting. Loved checking out my -5 reputation posts.

Not really bothered by anyone, though. Downvote me all you want, if you think you don't agree with specific post.

Aww, that was pretty fun. But i'm pretty sure we all had a clear picture of who downvotes who hehe. To me the most important posts wasn't the posts with -5 points, because if a post has so many -reps, then it's a crappy post and deserves all the downvotes. It was fun to see who upvotes and downvotes each other

Yes it was interesting to see that you went around trolling my posts to down vote them for no apparent reason. (even though I suspected this was you)
Now you can have the same back.

Now who's the child? That kind of behavior is totally not going to be tolerated.

And then the rep war began. Kidding. But seriously, it's just 3 votes

...or it speaks the truth. Like mine did.

One thing that i don't understand is. Sometimes when people say their honest opinion, they get those 5-10 -rep points. Yet people keep saying that they don't downvote posts that they disagree with. So if i have a post with -5 rep, does that mean that people think i am trolling?

Well, with a post like:

I absolutely hate sidescrolling games.

I can't imagine what you were thinking when you made that post, but to me it just screams "Hey, pay attention to me!" It's generally held that if you're going to take up a controversial stance, you better have some reasoning to back it up. Otherwise, it will inevitably be viewed as trolling.

I'm waiting for a spreadsheet analysis from Mr Blackcat on how the votes are distributed and would be suprised if it's not hear by next week.

Did he say this to you? Cause he hasn't been here since summer 2011.

No, its just that I only read this entire topic the other day when I was bored, it gave me a few laughs and noticed he was very interested in how people vote and already did some sort of analysis with what data he could see. There hasn't really been any new tidings in the Duke world for him to post here I suppose, but he posted in Gearbox the other day so he might be knocking around. Maybe if you say his name in front of a mirror three times he will appear with data in hand.

Edit: Tried that, it didn't work.

What's the new thing TX has done? Where everyone can see identities of votes?
