Hmm... My reputation was +4 yesterday, now it's -3? If you want to vote me down please do it more so I can hold the record for the lowest score, just like PassMark, on which I have the lowest recorded benchmark ever!

Another downvote abuse victim?

I just found out that there is a voting system here yesterday, sorry hightreason ^^

Anyway, i didn't downvote you i think, i will just keep downvoting everyone till they get 0, just to prove that a voting system doesn't matter.

I'm just going to post here to see what my ego and reputation is.

Edit: nope, hasn't changed. Still 80% and +6 points. Is there a quick way of finding out where we got our reputation from?

Today I got +3 points from someone liking my posts in the Critical Mass thread and I don't know why because they didn't need to be rated up :dukegoof: . I'm not saying it's bad but it would be good to know where all your Rep comes from.

Just buy a small TV and you will get the same results xD

Can't beat a Panasonic plasma in terms of colors and black levels. There's Pioneer Kuro, but Pioneer doesn't make plasmas anymore. Panasonic hired all Pioneer's engineers to make their plasmas. My plasma has Pioneer's contrast ratio built into it, although the black levels aren't as black as the Kuro, but they are pretty black to me.

I've heard some people say LCD has a better picture than plasma, but that's probably because of the motion interpolation that it does, which basically takes 24 FPS and speeds it up to anywhere between 100-480 FPS by adding in fake frames. Colors look all wrong on an LCD.

I think we had this discussion once and you probably got owned by me showing evidence that Cathode Ray Tubes still display the best image.

Sure, if your sole gauge of "best image" is color reproduction and you choose to ignore things like picture clarity and legibility of text, eye strain after prolonged use, etc.

Plasma is loosely based off of a CRT because it uses green, blue and red phosphors just like a CRT monitor.

Oh, and this is quite funny. Basically shows how many times Commander Shepard says I should go in Mass Effect 1.

So Star Wars is coming to Blu-ray on September 16th, although I'm kind of concerned because it was made all the way back in 1977 and they didn't even have HD back then, so I wonder how it's going to look.

They didn't have digital video back then either. Old movies have enough information on film for 1080p. They haven't been shot with some digital camcorders, you know.

Yeah think about when the movies first played in cinemas, the images didn't look blurry, they looked crystal clear on screens as tall as your house! (I'm guessing, I wasn't born when Star Wars played in cinemas)

The American Economy in simple language:
You have an annual expense of $3.50 and an annual income of about $2.50. You have a credit card that owes $14.90 with a credit line of $15.00. Your annual fee and credit card bill is about $7. You have .05 in the bank. In order to not default on that credit card bill, you took another credit card out to pay the $8.00 you owe that you can't afford this year.
Oh, and you just cut .03 from your expenses.

At some point, a rational human being would stop spending money or get a 2nd job.

I heard there's going to be a government shutdown this weekend. My first thought was anarchy.

No, no government shut down. They made a deal...that cut 38 billion dollars from the budget (the .03 thing in my analogy). Of course, it was a series of back room deals that will only serve to infuriate social and fiscal conservatives while also upsetting social liberals a little too. Basically, no one will be too happy with this thing.
Frankly, I could cut the budget to a sustainable budget, but no one would vote for it and no one would re-elect me afterwards...fucking ungrateful needy bastards who think they deserve things without working for them.

I have to agree with you... Homefront DID suck. Really, what a fucking lame game. The ending was the sorriest excuse for a conclusion to a story that I've ever seen, it was almost like they ran out of money halfway through development and just said screw it and ended it in the middle of a mission. Ugh.

I was kind of looking forward to playing that game...it seemed like a fun game from what I know about it.

The actual game itself wasn't too bad other than the occasional glitch. It's pretty much a cheesy Call of Duty clone but the gameplay was alright (albeit generic) and I found the weapons to be pretty satisfying to use. The ending, however, infuriated me to the point of not caring about the rest of the game due to being preoccupied with the fact that the second half of it was missing.

Is it modable? (haha, yeah right)

Maybe I'll check it out. I don't even like the endings to the COD games lately. Black Ops was kind of "meh" but it was entertaining. Medal of Honor had a total buzz kill ending but I liked that game (wish it was longer).

I'm really bad at FPS games when it comes to aiming although I can't commit to a MMORPG because I won't sell my soul to it anymore. I wonder what I should do?

Real time strategy! Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun, one of my favourite games has officially been released as freeware so you can download and play the full thing.

I guess what I meant is, online multiplayer FPS. I don't mind things like Duke or whatever. However, when your playing against other players, I'm kind of like Harry on Dumb and Dumber. He's a terrible shot.

I've tried strategy games, too fast paced for me. I'd like to take my time on something, but not take up too much of my time (eg. a MMORPG, you basically have to treat like a part time job at least).

Well in Tiberian Sun all the units move slowly so it gives you time to think, and you can turn down the game speed to a snail pace :dukegoof:

Anyway since I'm also a terrible aimer, one of the things I like about Duke Nukem 3D is the auto-aim because I seem half decent.

Auto-aim in Duke? I never knew that. I don't mind playing a FPS game, just as long as it's got some sort of aim assist in there. I just got done playing some Unreal Tournament 2004 and I was kicking ass because I had it on. If it was off, I couldn't hit anything. I was also playing against the lowest skill of bots. But occasionally they would instagib me with a shock rifle. I have this mod called WeaponStuff where you can modify the weapons. It's actually a mutator like the quad jump or whatever. If I want to make the redeemer fire at 50 rounds per second, I could do that.

I know the ending did piss me off. Such a let down that game :D I don't know about you but the ending invokes memories of Halo 2 for me :dukegoof:

Well the gameplay annoyed me more than you, as I was expecting something a bit new. Not as you say a COD clone.
Weapons to me would have been so much better if they were louder.

I spent around 16 hours fixing my laptop, it required major electronic work, I poured myself a mug of sprite and sat down to test things out, laptop worked fine, knocked the sprite over with my foot right onto the power brick :dukegoof:

I've already had to go a week with no porn or other entertainment before sleep, now I'm back at square 1!

This screenshot is part of the easter egg found in Mass Effect 2's Arrival DLC. Although it just looks like a smudge, this is actually in game footage. Doesn't spoil much because you don't really know what this is.

I wish they wouldn't release DLCs that cost money and advance the story. I like Bioware and tend to pay for their games but I'm not about to pay money for something that should have been included in the released game to begin with....

Also, looks like a wormhole or something.

It wouldn't be. The game was released in 2010.

I don't understand this "it should have been included with the game" argument. It's not like they've released it on the same month as the game. Two DLCs that advanced the story were released at least half a year after shipping the game.
