The new forum does look nice. One of the things I liked about the old forum however was its unique look, now it looks like a lot of other forums. It's nice, but not as unique anymore.

They also let you post youtube videos into posts now instead of just a link.
I hope that does not get abused. ;)

Video? Oh, you mean Rodney King style....no, I'm talking about voting down posts and then verbally assaulting people for being idiots.
This is not to say that I'm against corporal punishment, I'm quite for it, but I just don't have the time or the resources to go out and hunt down forum noobs.

When people refer to the iPod Touch as the iTouch, it sounds sort of kinky.

It's kinda weird when I hear people say they have an iTouch, can't they just say iPod Touch or is everything being shortened these days?

Back when I was a kid, the kids used to say "I'm going to market". Which, here in Calgary, we have a mall called Market Mall. Guess they think it sounds cool.

I thought it was an iTouch ;) They have the iPod, the iMac, the iPad....it would make sense that it would be the iTouch.

Mac is obviously run by a bunch of nymphomaniacs. ;)

I'm just reminded of this old cartoon:

And now other companies are using "i" in their names because they want to be like Apple. How original.

The letter "i" should be banned from tech names. Microsoft shall henceforth be known as McRosoft, making it an Irish company.

I guess what I meant was people using stuff such as "iName" in their products. Where "Name" is replaced with whatever they are trying to sell.

Putting "i" at the start of everything is stupid, and can cause all manner of problems, Steve Jobs himself is well aware of this fact -

Hmm, apparently you can block embedding on YouTube...fascinating.

Also, that video was pretty funny.

Not sure if you guys are aware of this, but the Lord of the Rings extended edition will be released on Blu-ray on June 28th, 2011. At least according to Amazon. I still have the extended editions on DVD. I did not double dip so to speak. That is, buy the theatrical versions on Blu-ray and now these.

The important question is this: Does the blu-ray version fit on disk or is it too big even for a blu-ray disk?

Let's say that audio+video will be around 24Mbps, ROTK is 251 minutes. (24*251*60)/8=45GB. Dual-layer disk is 50GB. They might squeeze it. And of course first two movies should be on one disk. Director's cut Troy(196min) is on one disk with lots of bonuses.

The plan is to have two discs per movie for maximum quality. Same thing they did with the DVD extended editions. I would rather have that, then do one movie per disc. With each movie being roughly 3.5-4 hours long (ROTK is 4:15), you can watch the first half one night and the second half some other time.

Maximum quality my ass. Having FOTR on two disks is a waste of space, when you can have it on one with the same quality. They aren't going to put it in RAW there.

Hold on so halfway through the movie, you have to get up, go to your bluray player and swap disks? Man that'd SUCK. It'd completely ruin the atmosphere and viewing experience.

Well, LOTR EEs were originally released that way with two dvds per movie. And they cuted movies in appropriate places. But I still prefer one disk.

One disk per movie. I wouldn't want to get up and change disk. I mean, if someone were to do a marathon of the three movies, that would be switching disk 5 times before the end. It would break the atmosphere. All this talk about Blu-ray being super yet they can't fit the extended editions of LOTR on one disk? Bonus features on their own disk, each movie on its own disk. That makes much more sense. Most people aren't going to experience the difference because most people don't have a mini theater in their house.
