It's normal if strangers cross the street to avoid you, I swear that's happened to me a few times and I've done it on several occasions

See, there's three kinds of people: dicks, pussies, and assholes. Pussies think everyone can get along, and dicks just want to fuck all the time without thinking it through. But then you got your assholes, Chuck. And all the assholes want us to shit all over everything! So, pussies may get mad at dicks once in a while, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes, Chuck. And if they didn't fuck the assholes, you know what you'd get? You'd get your dick and your pussy all covered in shit!

That movie is great...but I don't have it so I had to settle for Team America: World Police (hence the quote)

Just used office 2010 for the first time, waste of money, seems they have removed a lot of features as there isn't even a menu bar, there is what resembles one, but all it does is make some weird icons appear with what could be gray text that I can not read... Not to mention using about 50% of my CPU when I opened a 40 page long document in Word 2010.

My reccomendation, use Office XP instead - and don't jump in and say OpenOffice, because as good as it is, I can not be bothered to learn how to use it since they changed their interface and removed everything even remotely useful as well.

The problem when you become and adult, is that you don't want to have to learn something new that was previously the same for 20 years, if something isn't broke, don't fix it. Fuck Microsoft.

Office 2010 seems to me to be a step down from Office 2007. I have office 07 and I like it and I have intention of changing...I also have no intention of changing to Windows 8 when it comes out.

@ HT - For the over the hill man, software, try it. It's Canadian.
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/gb/...92#tabview=tab0

b.t.w. What you are referring to are called Ribbons. Elaborate tabs that give instant visual overviews of program commands, and is much simpler than clicking on the old fashion File | Edit | Shit | Crap | Whatever bar, when using a new program. Not all of earth's population used Word, like old school peeps. I like it, so there.

Also, Windows 8, should be bypassed anyway. Seems to me the circle of things. 3.11 - good, 95 shit, 98SE good, ME shit, XP good, Vista super-shit, 7 good, so Windows 8 should be shit if history is used as the basis.

Ah, WordPerfect, I still have a version of that on 360K disks, along with WordStar and SuperCalc (Not sure who made those two.). I dunno, I'll just stick on Office XP, I'll hopefully have something better to occupy my time soon anyway, I've almost completely lost interest in ICT, my 80286 is my last build.

You think 95 was shit? That's my favorite OS, now 98 first edition was shit, 98SE is possibly the best OS ever made. I actually liked Windows ME, but I was more patient back then and did in depth modification of the OS, it performed well. These days I just want my software to work, and I don't want to learn how to use it, it should be self explanatory.

Windows 7 is also on my shit list anyway, it's no better than Vista and is probably less usable, I've only used 2008 though, which was a disgrace as it took 3 times longer to get anything done and did not allow me to view the status of individual network connections on the taskbar as well as lacking several important features. A friend of mine is a newfag, uses all the latest software and his 6-core computer still can't catch up with mine in real-world use because of the bloated operating system and software he uses - even though he has solid state drives (which suck at present, give it about 3 years.).

Edit: Anybody here ever played with early versions of Windows Chicago? There were some neat ideas in that OS - it later became Windows 95.

95 slowed down everything on my computer, compared to 3.1. M$ had a version called Chicago, that Bob and I played with (Bob worked for MS). Super stuff, it ended up as 95, not that super or what I think it could have been. - Let's just say, we agree to disagree on this one.

Well, I don't know what that office 2010 has done, but my computer now takes more than twice as long to boot, takes ages to load explorer windows and is generally crippled with broken registry keys and no microsoft outlook - yeah, I didn't install Outlook 2010, but it went and removed Outlook 2002 when I hit uninstall, also office XP programs now crash whenever I use them so I will have to re-install that if I can ever find the CD, but fuck that, it looks like I will just have to re-install windows anyway, fuck sake, I've used the same installation for over 5 years now, microsoft can fuck off, never using their products again, I'm glad I fucked ICT off and I'm glad I failed my college course, jesus christ, I could have written a better program when I was 7 years old - in fact I did. fuck sake, what am I supposed to do now, jesus christ I miss MS-DOS, that was the shit!

@ High Treason
http://sourceforge.n.../littlecleaner/
I use it every day. The first time you'll use it it will appear that it stopped working, it did not, wait until it writes the errors to be fixed - up to five minutes ( I have one TB drive ). Also, Office and Word are two different things. All I have is Word, even so it fails correcting my grammar, it's not bad. And e-mail, I use only Thunderbird. The trick with Windows is to use as little as possible from Microsoft. Even so I hate Open Source shit, once I donate to a program, I think it's no longer open source, it's good and paid for shit. :P

PMDG makes the best payware planes for FSX. Not just on the outside, but the interior of this plane mimics the real 737-NG. You would basically be flying a fully functional 737 as if you were sitting on the tarmac at your favorite airport ready for takeoff. They consulted Boeing to help make this aircraft as close to the real deal as possible. They even hired 9 real world pilots to beta test it and make sure that it performs like the real 737-NG.

For example, in FSX to start up an aircraft, just push CTRL+E. However, with this plane, that won't work. You need to go through a procedure to start up the aircraft. It's not that hard once you've done it a few times. There's only about 10 steps or so.

@Hank; Thanks, but I'm not that fussed, my computer has to last until I finish my final cartoon series - which everyone will probably diss as per usual, but hey, I just won't be appreciated in my own time :P

I know Word and Office are different things, I had the full Office 2010 installed, except Outlook and some other things that I can't remember the name of, but they didn't exist in Office XP so I saw no good reason to install them and make it take up even more room (1.5GB is silly! Office XP uses 270MB.).

I used to like open source, but too many stabbed me in the back by closing the source, getting rid of the old versions so you can't download them any more and then charging me money, I hope they go bankrupt the capitalist assholes. And then most of it is written for Linux, many a time I found code which asked for the OS, if "Windows" was detected it would display a message telling you that the program had crashed... Despite the fact it hadn't, can't remember what that was in.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, addressing everyone reading here, here's my 286;
Posted Image Posted Image

Damn thing bankrupted me, but never mind, it was worth it. The system features;
8MHz AMD 80286
640KB DIP RAM
512KB EGA Graphics
760MB Maxtor XT Hard Drive (Large! Machines then usually had around 30MB)
Nothing else worth noting, other than the fact that some programs had loading screens that I never knew were there or never got a chance to look at on my IBM 386.

Damn, fucking Amazon....stupid thing sent my package to the wrong address. I know I told it to ship to my address (as opposed to my parents') but it seems to have set it to ship there instead which means my books I wanted to have this week are going to a place 900 miles away....and then my mom has to find a way to send them to me (which isn't going to make her happy) and they will arrive a week later than Amazon shipped them.
Of course, I find out they are heading the wrong direction once it is too late to change the shipping address...

My speakers arrived here in Calgary at 5 AM today. Says they are out for delivery, however, I'm going to be working until 6 or so. I mean I'm off at 5, but I won't get home until 6 PM.
