These two women got into a fight on the train when I was coming home tonight. One was pissed because this young woman was "yelling" on her phone. I didn't think so. Anyways, she told her to go screw herself.

I just cleaned the inside of my keyboard for the first time since I got it brand new with my computer in 2003 or so. WHAT A MESS. I challenge you all to pry your keys off your keyboard and see what has lingered for so long in the depths between the keys so close to where you type everyday. I took out a solid layer of dust and hair that was surrounding the the keys underneath.

...I've thought about such a thing. I have had this keyboard since at least 2002 if not before then. Hell, this keyboard could be 10 years old. I've blown air on it on occasion just to clean out the obvious stuff but I've never taken off keys. I may one day...but probably not until I have a spare keyboard.

If you have a fairly standard and generic keyboard there's really nothing to it. The keys come up pretty easy and they're no trouble to stick back in. The longer keys like Space, Enter, Shift, Backspace, numpad +, etc have metal rods in them that have to go on a certain way but that's the only difference and it isn't that difficult to figure out.

I'd hate to be a smoker with a keyboard. When I still lived with my parents, my dad's keyboard was covered in cigarette ash. Luckily, he doesn't smoke anymore.

It's not about being a smoker. It's about not smoking in front of PC. Or, if I may, not giving two shits about others.

Eating at a computer is rather gross also. I have seen some nasty stuff from when I worked in computer labs. Of course, people weren't supposed to eat in front of the computer, but what else would that sticky stuff be?
I imagine there are a lot of crumbs and such under my keys since I eat at my desk often.

I have a keyboard that I used on my main workstation from 2003 until last year. It started out as white in color but became a mixture of browns and grays.

I got drunk and spilled a load of Carling in it, it worked for the rest of the night, but when I got up the next day it was broken, strange, given that it had been exposed to water, pepsi and who only knows what else before. I lifted the keys and there was a lot of tobacco, ash and various gooey things in there, I then opened the whole thing up and there was mould inside and several parts of the plastic board were melted due to apparent electrical problems. It did not small pleasent, it actually had that cheesy smell some parts of your body have when you don't have a shower for a few months.

Wow, I mean I'll admit to being lazy and sometimes skipping shower for 5 days, maybe, but a few months? Ugh http://forums2.duke4...tyle_emoticons/default/blink.gif :P

Ah, it wasn't entirely my own choice. When I was living in social services care there were about six months when I only had one set of clothes, after a while they were so dirty that I smelled bad (a mixture of urine, cannabis, cheap vodka and stale cotton smells) if I showered or not, that and one of the kids in that place made sure that everything other than the toilet was covered in his fecal matter so I really didn't want to go in that room as it was not pleasent in there.

Eventually, after nearly four months of wearing the same clothes 24/7 I had a shower and then threw my clothes out of my room for the staff to wash for the morning, this almost went to plan except the fire alarm went off at 3AM (which may have been my fault), as a result we had to evacuate the building, the staff yelled at me for leaving the room with nothing but a sheet around me, I told them they had my only clothes in the washing machine and I had nothing else, they told me to hurry up and find something better than the blanket. I threw it to the ground and asked if that was better, they said no and that the blanket would have to do and that we should all leave immediately due to the potential fire.

It was below 0°C outdise that night, and we were out there for ages waiting for the fire brigade, I just stood around dick-slapping things (Why I do not know, I used to do pathetic things like that, being in care damages you.) - eventually the fire brigade turned up and the place wasn't even on fire, I was dissapointed. I walked back to my room, thinking I would be very tired at college the next day. I slept a while and then was woken up by the staff telling me to get up.

Unfortunately, in all the events of the fire alarm going off, they had forgotten to dry my clothes, eventually they found a pair of shorts that I had not seen for almost a year, so I wore those, but that was all they found. If I failed to attend college I would be expelled from school and college. I asked my friend to lend me a t-shirt, none of them fit me. Eventually I waited for everyone to go downstairs, there was a fat girl who lived in the home too so I stole one of her t-shirts (I intended to give it back, probably covered in booze and burn holes though) that stupid t-shirt fit strangely, but it was big enough, anyway, before this gets too long, I got to college, though many people wondered why I was wearing a girls t-shirt and holy old shorts.

Now I live in my own house and have more clothes, so I shower once a week.

Once a week? That is rather gross. I always shower at least once a day. There were times back in high school when I was an athlete that I showered twice a day (in the morning and after practice). I can go a weekend without sleeping but I'll still shower every day.

You're right. I guess it's their stuff after all.

Well... We'll wait 30 years and see who has better skin and hair (if I have any left) because showering yourself all the time will not do you any good. It's not like I smell bad anyway, and if I did I wouldn't care because I have no reason to smell nice.

As for smoking, I had a gas man that complained about me smoking once and whined about the coating of nicotine/tar that had built up on the wall behind the gas fire, the cheeky sod, it's my house.

No way. My ex is forty-eight, skin smooth as silk. Estée Lauder girl. I use Clinique. - I wrote that before; come to America!!! It is the Land of Milk and Honey! Yeah! Try a warm milk bath with your girl. - The winters in Canada dry out your skin, even if you never take a shower. Well, but then you stink so bad the condition of your skin won't actually matter. http://forums2.duke4...tyle_emoticons/default/tongue.gif

I should buy a shower cap since making my hair wet is the main reason why I hesitate to shower more than a several times a week.

Got my system home. Damn is this thing cool.

Didn't get my SSD installed due to the SATA ports facing a weird way, so I might try and buy a external SATA card for it.

I am dangerously close to reinstalling Oblivion...God, that game is terrible but I am in the mood for some fantasy RPG. I'd almost prefer a game where I wasn't human but parts of the crafting and magic aspects of Oblivion are nice (while the story, dialog, and leveling systems all suck)

What about Dragon Age? That's a fantasy RPG.

Beat it once already and I don't really feel like going through the game again right now. Maybe when I am about to get Dragon Age 2 I'll go through a second time with a different character (since the world is saved and can be imported into the next game). That is what I did with Mass Effect. I beat it twice and I played through Mass Effect 2 with those 2 different characters (and the game is radically different between the two because of some different choices I made).

I gave in to temptation and bought Neverwinter Nights 2 (platinum) off of Steam for $20. Unfortunately, by the time it finishes installing, I'll have stuff to do again. I need to have stuff like this ready at hand for when I get bored on off days and slow times.

SSD is installed now. Was kind of tricky. Had to bend the SATA cable as well as turn the case upwards (optical drives facing up), but it's in there.
