There will be a time when Doom 4 will look old. I couldn't imagine things looking much better than Half-Life 2 when it first came out. Now it's way older than HL1 was then and looks just as bad as what I remembered HL1 to be (which now looks even worse). It's little details they add that we don't notice until they think to add them. People look at Source as an ancient engine now and my brain refuses to accept that a little bit. I still feel like the Orange Box just came out a couple years ago max.

Guess then, we have different outlook on this aspect. Graphical fidelity as it is, plays only second fiddle to art direction to me. That is why some games with lackluster art direction as Quake I, Jedi Knight 1 I always considered looking meh and on other hand those with remarkable ones such as Duke3D, Bioshock (guess what I think about its remaster :D ), XIII and Half-Life 2 dont age visually that much for me.

Sad news for PS4 owners. Sony won't allow user mods on Fallout 4 and Skyrim until Sony changes it's mind. Here's what Bethesda says about the matter.

Quote

After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition.

Like you, we are disappointed by Sony's decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive. We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available.

We will provide an update if and when this situation changes.

Good thing that I sold my PS4 and all of the games I had for it.

"We are reaching a really terrifying conclusion for the whole world —that the White House is defending Islamic State. Now there can be no doubts about that," the RIA Novosti news agency quoted Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova as saying.

"Warplanes from the international anti-jihadist coalition carried out four air strikes today (Sunday) against Syrian forces surrounded by IS in the Deir Ezzor air base," a Russian army statement said.

"Sixty-two Syrian soldiers were killed and a hundred others were injured in these strikes.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group gave a toll of 83 soldiers killed, and said the strikes were US-led coalition raids.

It's heating up.

LOL This is too much. This can't be real. I am so flabbergasted....

Then after that video, he makes this one:

I don't know why there hasn't been a more successful rival to YouTube by this point...they're so grossly incompetent it's unbelievable. I literally have trouble believing this.

Yeah, there's a lot of backlash over this system. Joe is certainly pissed and dumbfounded by it all!

As for a rival I think the fact that Google has very deep pockets is a good reason for no one being able to step up yet. Youtube will probably continue to make mistakes and bad decisions that baffle everyone and yet still manage to remain on top. Microsoft is probably an apt comparison to make with how many bad decisions are made and yet there isn't any real challenge out there. It doesn't mean it can't happen sometime in the future with the right timing and funds. Who knows, maybe this is the line where people decide they have had enough? We'll just have to wait and see.

Remember when Google's motto was "don't be evil?" I wonder how many people remember that anymore...

Also there's some controversy with Oculus and Palmer Luckey going on right now:

I am so happy with this. YouTube is getting so bad that they it's inevitable that they will get behind other sites. Like RapidShare back then.

I still remember reading an article a few years ago about Youtube's slow buffering issues. I don't experience these issues anymore.

I just finished watching Inception again (favourite movie of all time) and was mulling over ideas of how it would make a good game. After going through various ideas I came to the realization that it might actually work best as an asymmetrical multiplayer game with one team being the extractors and the other being the projections.

Basically at its core it'd be something just like CTF but with Inception-like features. Maybe one person chooses the maps (architect)? Maybe even a multi-level campaign system like L4D except each level is another dream depth. Maybe multiple game modes covering Inception itself? Maybe a Limbo game mode that's just free for all deathmatch with abilities to create random fantastic and unrealistic things like super weapons, destroying buildings, creating buildings, warping reality to your advantage somehow. Could use more thought but the more I think about it the more I want to play it.

More Friends gold for the average millennial:

Chandler: "How drunk are you anyway?"
Monica: "Drunk enough that I know I want to go through with this. Not so drunk that you should feel guilty about taking advantage."
Chandler: "That's a perfect amount!"
