Actually, in retrospect, it seems like you did lighten up on it but I didn't notice at the time. Ugh, hindsight is 20/20 I guess... Well, shit, I sure fucked up.


I think nearly anything would have upset that machine anyway, it was incredibly frustrating having to hammer Esc all the time not only on this site but on other image heavy places just to keep it alive. These days that's not an issue, so I shall just ignore gifs should I be browsing here, it's not a chore to hit PgDn.

It would piss me off if I was on older hardware and some goon was posting gifs non-stop making my browser/puter crash.
I'm pretty sure HT has an i7 Elitebook now (+ tonnes of older/interesting hardware) so, I guess you can return to your .gif whoring ways given that it's all you know

I don't really understand where you're going with this or what you want to be honest, so whatever, clearly you're determined to have some kind of issue with me here for what was an issue we both said we were over. It is a shame this had to happen, I thought we had reached an agreement but you suddenly pull a 180. I had no idea you wanted me to reply to your post saying the exact same things I had already written out and the thought didn't occur to me for that very reason, it would be redundant. Plus the fact I'm not even home, so I'm not at the keyboard constantly here, having only visited once or twice in passing between things.

No problem. Admittedly I generally don't find the GIFs funny, but I'm not about to get pissy because you have a different sense of humor to me, that wouldn't be right, if I don't like them I'll just hit PgDn and forget about them. As for the signature, nah, a small part of me always aspired to appearing in someone else's sig like that and I suppose it is kinda funny anyway. I laughed at it for different reasons before, but it's still good and I have no objection to it staying there.


On the other hand, it seems I'm mighty good at burning bridges, but I think I've got the matches under control. Indeed, it was not a great experience, but now I just look back and laugh at the place. As I don't have to live there it's quite funny to think how many hours the neighbors spent staring at me, congregating on my lawn and talking about me. It is funny to look back and think of the frequent intruders who even stole my light bulbs and I find it really quite funny to look back at how the front porch was held up with 40mm PVC Waste Pipe when it had originally been cast iron, making the whole thing fall away from the front of the house dangerously, though it was still hanging on last time I was there. They lied about the rent, they refused to carry out repairs and they bitched about me refusing to move my things in even though I told them someone else had a key (previous tenant?) and kept entering the property but they (The Council) refused to change the locks. The final straw was when I found a guy in the loft and then the front door frame fell out of the wall, I handed in my notice and don't have to worry about the place anymore. Ah, the perks of being a single, white British male in the United Kingdom. The people moving in now live only a few doors away and they're getting all the things I reported fixed free of charge and probably pay less rent than I would have had to.

It nearly cost someone their job, so I don't think they'll do it again. I further get this impression from them offering me a place literally around the corner from it which was more of the same, but then changing their mind before I had even gotten around to telling them I wanted nothing to do with it. Ideally I'd just stay where I am, but as the whole neighborhood is being torn down I don't have a choice in the matter, it sucks because I grew up in this neighborhood. As it stands, save for my mother, I'm the last member of my family dumb enough to still be in this city and I've started giving serious thought to leaving it in the next few years, I don't plan to get old and die here.

I haven't actually seen this kind of mail slot anywhere around here, must have been a phased out thing because dropping mail onto someone's floor (sometimes) just seems kinda weird to me.

You know that mailbox with the dog I mentioned yesterday? Well today I delivered mailed to it. I get close, put the scooter against the wall, step in the direction of the "box" and its clasp suddenly opens by itself and I see 5 fingers and half of the hand coming with through the hole !

That startled me on the moment, but then I laughed my ass off for the next several minutes.

Some time later, I'm going to post what is left of a TC I lost major chunks of when drive corruption set in.

I just spend ages uploading it, then found that some of the lost textures still exist because I just copied the whole directory when I was testing something else. It will remain abandoned though as I've lost the script and most annoyingly, the CON files for the inventory, doors, AI and a bunch of other stuff that took months to develop are gone forever.

Edit: Another backup, seems one of the templates for the textboxes still exists. I'm still confident the CONs are gone though, but I'm going to have a really thorough search before uploading it now.

To anyone interested in this be warned that with or without the missing CONs, it was a long way from finished and I'm posting it more out of "just because" than anything. Actually, think I'll start a "Trashpile" thread as I have a bunch of leftovers I wont use and while they are unlikely to be of use to anyone else, they might be. At the very least, they serve as a reminder of the importance of off-line backups.
