It's not beneficial to anyone to drag it out and continue fighting over.
#18574 Posted 03 March 2016 - 08:16 AM
While you're here though, why do you keep going on that I got mad? Sure, the mass down votes was confusing but I cared enough to ask, got a reason why, stopped posting gifs until you left. Did you not see that...?
Edit: Maybe I didn't search far back enough but all I could find was Robman shitting up the Post Thread and you posting some computer stuff too. I definitely stopped posting as many gifs though. Maybe I talked about it in a different thread?

I think nearly anything would have upset that machine anyway, it was incredibly frustrating having to hammer Esc all the time not only on this site but on other image heavy places just to keep it alive. These days that's not an issue, so I shall just ignore gifs should I be browsing here, it's not a chore to hit PgDn.

It would piss me off if I was on older hardware and some goon was posting gifs non-stop making my browser/puter crash.
I'm pretty sure HT has an i7 Elitebook now (+ tonnes of older/interesting hardware) so, I guess you can return to your .gif whoring ways given that it's all you know

I miss the non-confrontational Lunick who just posted gifs.

was I being aggressive? yup. my fault.
did he ever once hint at harming himself? nope. i won't take the blame for 'encouraging' him to do so either.
no more time wasted trying to mend fences with a neighbor that won't come out of their house and make any effort. chapter closed. moving on

Wait, what? I ignored what exactly? How? How did I not acknowledge things in my first post here today? Do you want me to write the exact same post again just because you replied to it?
I don't really understand where you're going with this or what you want to be honest, so whatever, clearly you're determined to have some kind of issue with me here for what was an issue we both said we were over. It is a shame this had to happen, I thought we had reached an agreement but you suddenly pull a 180. I had no idea you wanted me to reply to your post saying the exact same things I had already written out and the thought didn't occur to me for that very reason, it would be redundant. Plus the fact I'm not even home, so I'm not at the keyboard constantly here, having only visited once or twice in passing between things.
God, this gives me a headache.

you didn't accept my first apology, so I issued a second (technically third), of my own volition and without being asked to do so. You ignored it.
Bypassed it so to speak and responded to a later post by Lunick. From that perspective, it appears you completely disregarded it.
I'm not determined to have an issue with you. Your friends asked me to apologize, which I have three times now.
Each time you have said nothing back. Usually an acknowledgement of some kind is expected in return so the people can move on. No reply can mean the apology is either ignored, or just not accepted.
The comment is for your friends, not you, stating that I tried and got nothing back. I'm done trying to apologize over and over to someone who won't acknowledge it.
Sorry if you read it and misunderstood its intent.

No problem. Admittedly I generally don't find the GIFs funny, but I'm not about to get pissy because you have a different sense of humor to me, that wouldn't be right, if I don't like them I'll just hit PgDn and forget about them. As for the signature, nah, a small part of me always aspired to appearing in someone else's sig like that and I suppose it is kinda funny anyway. I laughed at it for different reasons before, but it's still good and I have no objection to it staying there.
On the other hand, it seems I'm mighty good at burning bridges, but I think I've got the matches under control. I probably won't be around here much anyway as I'm tied up with all sorts of crap at the moment, primarily forced to move house and having just gotten out of being landed with a really crappy place in a bad neighborhood.

It nearly cost someone their job, so I don't think they'll do it again. I further get this impression from them offering me a place literally around the corner from it which was more of the same, but then changing their mind before I had even gotten around to telling them I wanted nothing to do with it. Ideally I'd just stay where I am, but as the whole neighborhood is being torn down I don't have a choice in the matter, it sucks because I grew up in this neighborhood. As it stands, save for my mother, I'm the last member of my family dumb enough to still be in this city and I've started giving serious thought to leaving it in the next few years, I don't plan to get old and die here.
Right now this is just feet away from my home;

Ah !
I'm a postman (interimary job, I will end it start of july because it keeps getting worse, but anyway); one of the homes I deliver mail to from times to times has this kind of mailbox, small fence in the door. And they have a small dog. The dog hears you come, waits on the other side, and takes the mail in his mouth to bring it to his the owners. It's quite funny.
Now though this kind of mailboxes are shit, I hate them. And not all dogs are like this, most dogs hate postmen because they think it's someguy invading their territory every day. They can be very dangerous; and this reminds me, once a dog jumped THROUGH the mailbox to come bite the poor postman.
It was a big mailbox, embedded in the wall of the house.

I haven't actually seen this kind of mail slot anywhere around here, must have been a phased out thing because dropping mail onto someone's floor (sometimes) just seems kinda weird to me.
Also what if I told you that you're looking at a cat in that gif
#18594 Posted 05 March 2016 - 06:04 AM
You know that mailbox with the dog I mentioned yesterday? Well today I delivered mailed to it. I get close, put the scooter against the wall, step in the direction of the "box" and its clasp suddenly opens by itself and I see 5 fingers and half of the hand coming with through the hole !
That startled me on the moment, but then I laughed my ass off for the next several minutes.

I just spend ages uploading it, then found that some of the lost textures still exist because I just copied the whole directory when I was testing something else. It will remain abandoned though as I've lost the script and most annoyingly, the CON files for the inventory, doors, AI and a bunch of other stuff that took months to develop are gone forever.
Edit: Another backup, seems one of the templates for the textboxes still exists. I'm still confident the CONs are gone though, but I'm going to have a really thorough search before uploading it now.
To anyone interested in this be warned that with or without the missing CONs, it was a long way from finished and I'm posting it more out of "just because" than anything. Actually, think I'll start a "Trashpile" thread as I have a bunch of leftovers I wont use and while they are unlikely to be of use to anyone else, they might be. At the very least, they serve as a reminder of the importance of off-line backups.

@Lunick, I'd love to receive mail like that, it's dry, secure and you don't have to leave home to get it.
What doesn't make sense? The only drawback is on the mail carrier's end and nobody cares about that
