I'm sure some of you still watch the Simpsons.
Harry Shearer who does the voice of many characters. Mostly famous characters.
Numerous characters, including Mr. Burns, Waylon Smithers, Ned Flanders, Reverend Lovejoy, Kent Brockman, Dr. Hibbert, Lenny Leonard, Principal Skinner, Otto Mann and Rainier Wolfcastle.
Is quitting after season 26

The Simpsons actor Harry Shearer to leave the show
http://www.bbc.com/n...t-arts-32733873

Harry Shearer, who voices Ned Flanders and Mr Burns in The Simpsons, is to leave the show after more than 25 years following a dispute with producers.
Executive producer Al Jean said in a statement to the New York Times that Shearer had turned down a new pay deal.
The show "will go on" and the actor's characters will be recast, Jean added.
Shearer took to Twitter to say the decision "wasn't about money" and that signing up to a new series would have stopped him from doing other work.
The 71-year-old provided the voice for addled school principal Seymour Skinner as well as rapacious millionaire Montgomery Burns and Ned Flanders, Homer Simpson's chipper neighbour.

Shearer signalled his exit on Twitter by claiming that a lawyer for executive producer James L Brooks said: "Show will go on, Harry will not be part of it, wish him the best."
In a follow-up tweet, Shearer added: "This because I wanted what we've always had: The freedom to do other work. Of course, I wish him the very best."
In response, Al Jean wrote: "Harry Shearer was offered the same deal the rest of the cast accepted, and passed.
"The show will go on and we wish him well. Maggie took it hard.
"We do not plan to kill off characters like Burns and Flanders but will recast with the finest voiceover talent available."

Last week, the Fox network confirmed it had commissioned two more series of the long-running animated sitcom.
According to reports at the time, Shearer had yet to sign a new contract.
On Thursday, the actor stressed that he had no plans to retire, adding: "On to new stuff..."
His other roles have included bass player Derek Smalls in rock "mockumentary" This is Spinal Tap.
The Simpsons has been on air since 1989, and the new series will take the total number of episodes to 625.

I saw Mad Max: Fury Road last night. Without exaggerating, it's the best action film I've ever seen. That it was directed by a 70 year-old Australian doctor whose last credit was Happy Feet Two blows my mind. You HAVE to see this in a theater. I can't believe this movie happened.

Agreed. It was so good that I really didn't want it to end, which is somthing I don't often want to happen when watching most movies (even ones I love to pieces). The Mel Gibson films will always be classics, but if you're going to restart a dormant franchise after years in 'Development Hell' then Fury Road is exactly how you do that. Also, it was fantastic that Hugh Keays-Byrne came back to play the villian 36 years after Toecutter in Mad Max, a great piece of trivia AND a great performance.

Also, check this out. I just wish they did a segment about not smoking e-cigs during a movie, too. Not a toxin issue, but more of a "I don't want fucking steam in my field of view during a kickass movie"-issue!

The positivity around Fury Road is astounding. I've heard its just 2 hours of non-stop action. Does it not get exhausting at all, or is there smart breaks inbetween?
*edit* Just saw it, yeah its awesome.

My favorite part of Mad Max: Fury Road was the villains. Their "religion" and borderline theatrical performances were awesome.

What I didn't like was the whole "hey, men are evil, ugly, women enslavers!" and "women are pure and the righteous heroes" tone of the film. Every single annoying loud Tumblr/Twitter feminist has crawled out of their caves to praise the film because of that. Well, at least there's Max there fighting the establishment, too, otherwise the film would really be a caricature of how radical feminists view the world, despite all the amazing intangibles. Max being there ensures there's cooperation between the sexes rather than "one is better than the other".

Also Max isn't really the protagonist of the film, which was a bit disappointing, but could be forgiven if sequels are greenlighted and his backstory is expanded upon.

Hmm... might I suggest this high performance mouse I use. I call it "my mouse", but I think the real name is "The Compensator." Of course I have no idea what that means. (hehehe)

The Simpsons is an interesting case because it jumped the shark more than once. After Season 10 it went from something special to a mediocre show, and a few seasons it went from mediocre to being unwatchable. Even so the movie was surprisingly good.

You know the back story if you watched Mad Max (1979) (try to find the non-dubbed version - the 'american' accent one is kinda lame)

I was told by the press this was supposed to be a reboot not a sequel.

It is and it isn't. The key events of the original film have happened already (via flashbacks), though there are no direct references to the events of RR or BT in the film which in a way wipes the slate clean (unless any new sequels to Fury Road reference either of the past two films). Also, George Miller doesn't consider Fury Road to be simple reboot, but more of a "revisit". That choice of words leaves the door open to interpretation as to whether it is a sequel or the first film in an alternate universe that uses the first film's key events as a stepping stone.

Here's a link to one interesting take from a Mad Max fan on where Fury Road could stand in terms of its canonical relation to tne original trilogy or how it could be something else.
