You like to pick apart the Torah too? The Talmud is full of good quotes like this too.

Quote

The Jews are called human beings, but the non-Jews are not humans. They are beasts.

Because the fact that the symptoms of autism have changed drastically through the years, conveniently to include a boarder portion of the population, may not be responsible for the sudden increase in diagnoses.

With enough searching you can find all sorts of shocking messages from most religious texts. Culture and social standards always evolve through generations. A book never changes. Robman, on the other hand, will always be a bigoted cunt.

I don't notice any sources in that article, which is too bad because I'd like to see the studies.

Yeah, it's a common thing in all fields that when we get better at identifying something (or the ability to identify it in the first place) the "incidence" of it increases. Rather, it's just recognition of something that was already there. It's like saying that gravity sure is more prevalent than it has been!

Gravity must be more prevalent now because unloading cases of Dexcool at work was way way harder today than it was 15 years ago.

Evolve or revolve. Social filth is no new concept.

@Mblackwell, the study was one I could poke holes in. It basically said with a rise in GMO foods we have had a rise in autism. Good luck finding any good studies...

They are far less shocking if you are able to get your head in their world. Most of them even make sense when taking into account the practical factors of their lives. There is a lot to learn about ourselves today by getting inside those people's heads and seeing how they were intelligently adapting their condition with their ways.

A book never changes.

Except every time a translation happens along the lines of literalism as opposed to original intention. Which when combined with deliberate modifications for political or personal reasons results in a book that has almost nothing to do with the original writings. Thus creating a rift between those attempting to grasp the original context and intent versus those who love any opportunity to say "OMG how could they be so dumb!?!?" false sense of superiority. Most critics of those past writings aren't even in the same league as what they are mocking, especially given the expanded volume of information they have at their fingertips.

Even if a book literally doesn't change, the understanding that comes from reading it does. Same person, same book, different times can result in completely different understanding emerging.

Add a *.gif filter to your addblocker for common sites hosting them, restrict it to Duke4.net. That's what I did when I got sick of FireFox and Flash crashing every time I visited the forum... When you start seeing completely empty posts it really puts an emphasis on who is constructive and who is not.

I don't know, don't care that much given I was tempted to do it myself... Maybe as I'm evil my heart is black too? It isn't. !? :)

Actually, it might be a good thing, I'll just celebrate again if it returns to 666 again.

The Voigtlander 667 is a decent camera with some advanced features.

I took a photo earlier anyway, though it was with a crappy digital camera, do NOT press the spoiler button if you don't like creepy crawlies.

I'd have given you my address, but I would refuse the money. I don't work like that.

I don't know what I'm not buying anymore, but my bank account to have leveled out a little... At least until they put up the taxes and rent again in April.

Nope, not in this case: http://scienceblogs....ryone-autistic/

Quote

Seneff, it turns out, is an MIT scientist, but she is not a scientist with any expertise in autism, epidemiology, or, for that matter, any relevant scientific discipline that would give her the background knowledge and skill set to take on analyzing the epidemiological literature regarding autism. Indeed, she is in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT

Quote

So what we have here is a computer scientist interested in artificial intelligence who thinks she can switch her expertise to medicine, biology, and epidemiology. Let’s just put it this way. An undergraduate degree in biophysics in 1968 does not qualify one to do this sort of research

Hmmm. The study your article links costs $48 to read.

As I already said to Mblackwell, the link I posted had many holes. But thanks for linking back to orac and MKUltra :)

I noticed your late edit Comrade. Your use of the "c" word isn't going to buy you any votes from the feminist crowd.
Big difference between a "bigot" and a realist btw..

@Fox, trick question?
Gold and White.. White being all colours.

This might be a loaded question, but has anyone at this forum thought about making textures/character sprites/level design on a retail product similar to Duke3D/Doom/Blood/etc?
I know a lot of the work that goes on for custom Duke3D content is all from love for the game, but what if there was a payment involved?

Naturally I have conceived such an idea before. But it's too much work to create an entire game. And selling a product is a meh.

It's funny:

The dress is actually from a line of dresses that comes in Royal Blue (that dress is such). The color in the photo is a weird pale plum and brown combination due to the macro blocking and poor lighting.

And looking it up apparently people that see white and gold have poor color response.

Edit: Making a game is hard. Even a tiny project that you can do in a weekend takes THE ENTIRE WEEKEND just due to constant testing.
