All good and cool Viper. I'm more of a wine person than a beer person. Although I experimented w/ beer before don't remember which brand. Any recommendations?

Depends on your taste preferences. Do you prefer lighter tastes or darker tastes? Kind of like how it's hard to recommend a wine to someone if you don't know whether they like white, red, or fruit wines.

Some of my favourite beers/the beers I drink, each category ordered by most favourite of the type;

Fruit Beers: Stiegl Radler Grapefruit Beer, Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy, Redd's Apple Ale, Leinenkugel's Orange Shandy, Shock Top Honeycrisp Apple Wheat, Bud Light Lime, Leinenkugel's Cranberry Ginger Shandy, Shock Top Raspberry Wheat
Ales: Samuel Adams Summer Ale, Iron Maiden's The Trooper
Wheat Beers: Shocktop Belgian White, Blue Moon Belgian White
Lighter Lagers: Rolling Rock, Stella Artois, Dos Equis, Żywiec, Red Stripe, National Bohemian, Land Shark, Bud Light Platinum, Genesee
Darker Lagers: Rolling Rock Amber Lager, Samuel Adams Winter Lager, Samuel Adams Octoberfest, Samuel Adams Boston Lager, Yuengling Traditional Lager
Stouts/Other Darker Beers: Guinness, Hardywood Gingerbread Stout
Cheap American Beers and Malt Liquor: Miller High Life, Miller Lite, Colt 45, Budweiser, Old English 800, Pabst Blue Ribbon

Some of these you might not be able to find in your area (like Hardywood or National Bohemian which are regional brands, the further from their homes you go the harder it is to find them.)

I recommend trying something middle of the road like Rolling Rock, Stella Artois, Dos Equis, or Bud Light Platinum if you can't find any of those. Or if you like fruitier stuff Stiegl Radler is HIGHLY recommended. It's actually like 60% beer 40% grapefruit soda but that shit is straight cash. I would drink it for the rest of my life if I had to. Redd's Apple Ale, Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy, Shock Top Honeycrisp Apple Wheat and Bud Light Lime all go down pretty easy too.

This is now a beer thread.

Kindof funny how they get the label "Belgian" even though these are brewed in America and you probably won't find them here :)

They're Witbier style. Americans are pleb. If you say "Witbier" they're like "Wut?" but if you say "Belgian" they be like "DAS FANSY!"

Duvel...but you generally gotta go to liquor and beer stores to get it.

It's my favorite beer ever. It's full bodied yet refreshing, it's got a strong taste but it's not overpowering, it smells amazing, the taste is crisp and forms the biggest head ever if you don't pour it right.

It's fermented twice...once in the barrel, again in the bottle. The alcohol content is over 8%, but it doesn't taste like it so you WILL get pretty wasted if you aren't careful. This ain't the kinda beer you use to get drunk - it's expensive and purely for taste.

Ah yes, that is also popular over here (though more easily accessible I guess, it can just be found in any supermarket).. One of my favourites as well.

Ugh no, it's blinding until I stare at it long enough,

As for beer, here's a collection I enjoy semi-regularly in no particular order or type preference (some you might not be able to find):

Samuel Adam's Boston Lager
Samuel Adam's Octoberfest
Grain Belt Nordeast
Guinness (draught... get the can)
Guinness Stout
Harp
Corona
Dos Equis
Dos Equis Amber
Negra Modelo
Bell's Porter
Beck's
Beck's Dark
Summit EPA
Summit Red

There's more that I've tried and enjoyed, but these are ones I enjoy on a semi regular basis (as in keep in the house).

Just helping you out by posting the latest version of that:

You're still wrong. Go get some black friends and then talk to them about shit. I just got into a discussion with a friend of my boss, the dude is at least in his 50's and we were talking about how Mike Brown is a thug, and we even brought up the autopsy. Other topics we touched on were the Ferguson and LA riots and how black people behave when they're looting. We were disgusted by how they will destroy their own communities for the sake of free shit. A fucking bakery was looted and destroyed. The fuck are you gonna do with flour? Also the word "race card" was muttered quite a few times.

The guy is also an old school political activist and was giving the local black protestors shit because they were protesting Eric Garner's death in front of a school. You live within WALKING distance of the Long Island Rail Road. Hop on a fucking train, transfer to Staten Island, and go protest where the shit actually happened.

I'm wrong because I don't necessarily disagree with you?

Your experiences are you own sir, no way to disagree with that. And I won't disagree with a prevalence of what's really more of a "punk" (or "thug", but really it's just a different name for a similar attitude) culture in segments of the community. But you've got the cause and effect mixed up. People didn't act like shitheads and it made life shitty, life was shitty so they became shitheads (especially idiotic young people). Unfortunately it's kind of self-feeding. Things don't get better when people continue to be shitty, but people don't get better when their situation also continues to be bad.

Also you keep on with this "go get some black friends". It's weird. Did you know that I'm arab and my next door neighbors (and a large portion of people in my neighborhood in general) are black, for example? I wouldn't think you would and I wouldn't think you should even bother to ask either because it doesn't really matter.

Also I'm gonna leave this here because I thought of it the other day when talking to someone else:

It's probably more to do with its ubiquity than the taste (which is practically non-existent if I remember correctly).
What's funny to me is that Heineken is apparently considered something of an exotic premium beer in certain quarters while over here it's the typical bog standard 'choice'.

Yeah, I hate it because it doesn't taste like anything in particular (except maybe hops flavored water). It's not that it tastes offensive just that it has no real flavor and seems like a waste of time and money.
And yeah it's considered a bit exotic at least in the US.
