What does that have to do with anything? Neither device was designed for making music; the purpose of each device is entirely different than the other. It just so happens that the current implementation of music for the printer is better than the floppies. For example, the video of Grabbag on floppies fucks up big time in the middle where it misses an important big low note. And the world is too guitarded to notice.

Did some tweaking inside my tower, and I switched a fan which has the hot air blow out the top of the tower. I think before, it was blowing into the tower and out the back. I guess I forgot that hot air rises and that it should go out the top, not back in.

In addition, I got rid of all the dust in there as well. I do that every couple months or so.

That game is TurboRun, a retro racing game for Unity. They ceased development but a playable beta is still available for downloading: http://www.moddb.com/games/turbo-run

You're actually half right, half wrong. It has been revived as Drift Stage http://driftstage.tumblr.com/

Holy fucking shit that game is BEAUTIFUL.

I've always hoped there would be a surge of pseudo 8bit or 16bit games. With unlimited palettes we have an unlimited canvas. Ultimate stylization is now achievable.

Made myself a Windows 7 SP1 USB 3.0 install (using ISO downloaded from MS). I had to manually add the drivers to the WIM file because USB 3.0 didn't exist when Windows 7 came out. That is why I was getting those "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing" errors when trying to install it. Windows 8 does have USB 3.0 drivers on the disk from what I've been told.

Another thing I was going to ask was, how many of you:

1) Install Windows, then download and install all the updates after booting up for the first time. Or:

2) Make a custom Windows install with all the latest updates on the disc/USB (with RT7Lite or similar program), then install it all at once during the initial install process?

Just out of curiosity.

catching up with news - facebook helps behaviour researchers. Without your consent/knowledge screens news items for you, for a good cause of course, science. Posted Image

I struggle with this myself... I am slowly researching and digesting parts of it. Still have no reactionary conclusion though.
With that said, I think Facebook should have to give all the users back their monthly subscription fees. Oh wait... nevermind.

Like I have been repeating for years... never trust a business offering something free... you are going to pay in some way.

Besides that, who besides me has read even 5% of website agreements anyway? I save them dated in folders actually, but I am neurotic about it. If there was no money to be made, I don't think the "abuse of FaceBook Sheeple" would even be cared about.

This reminds me of how many "Android Apps" I have downloaded that have "No special permissions". I can only think of one right off (BoxWorld Origins) but I think I have encountered three. It is my opinion that experience is representative of the frequency in which people actually give away anything of value for free.

With all this "free is not" stuff said, I offer a sincere thanks to everyone here that works in the mod community for so much effort which is truly "free" and requires "no special permissions". :P

It just takes a good angle of vision to see that facebook, google and all the other shit are just there for targetting ads and producing money. They invent all kind of tricks to drive users like a cattle, and make them dependant of their apps. Facebook specially, uses something like yuyitzu, it just canalizes the social energy of people and utilizes it for its own plan. Some years ago it was a new cool thing, now has a huge role in many people´s social life. To the point that they will be excluded from most of it if they give up on FB. There are a few rebels, but the vast majority of people´s social energy is right now going through FB´s servers. Take measure of the giant power they are handling, it´s their time to start manipulating information to see how far they can impact on people. The new business model is genious and perverse at the same time.

I don't know what kind of news Facebook carries, but if it includes a Business section, I actually would consider suing them. Free or not free, someone may have bought a house because Facebook's news gave the false impression of an extra good economic outlook, and is now out a job because business did not do so well after all, or a similar scenario.

@ Gambini - I take Freedom of Information dead serious, it's part of our Charter of Rights (Canada), thus if Facebook infringed on this right with manipulated content, it is against the law. (You can't make someone a giunea pig without his/her consent) Yet here too, I have no idea what Facebook's version or service of news is. So I am still waiting for someone on Facebook that follows their news.

Facebook? Whilst the rest of the world was busy being 'social' I was being anti-social today. Thought I was going to get thrown out of the local store; some guy pushed in front of me, so I said I was in line first in a polite enough way. The guy ignored me, so I mentioned it again but he continued to ignore me so I called him a prick - that made him turn around, no apology but I did get a rather rude response, which was what I expected by that point. I told him he could go in front as it was clearly so important to him.

A lot of people think I'm offensive because I say what I think - usually like "This program/music/bar is shit..." but manners cost nothing and I don't go around pushing in line or being rude to people I don't know.

In other news I have just about finished what might be the last 90's computer build, a Pentium Pro system. It features a rather blingy case (going out with a bang... well, hopefully not.), Matrox Mystique 220 and most importantly an engineering sample of the PPro 200MHz 1MB which had pins missing - yeah, I soldered new pins onto it - it also wasn't easy to find a board known to handle those well, they suck quite a lot of power (for the time) and a lot of boards had problems apparently. The Chaintech 6ITM I went with doesn't seem to have issues though, has a rather massive part of the board covered with FETs and heatsinks that is dedicated to supplying power to the CPU.

I like that, more people need to call out bullshit. In my country (Ireland) we are too eager to let shit pass for the sake of "comfort". I suppose it's no surprise as we borrowed many mannerisms from the English (who are incredible faggots), though that's inevitable considering our history. I have recently taken to calling people out more often on their bullshit as I feel it needs to be done more and as uncomfortable as it seems at the time, it always feels rewarding after. I realize that a lot of people don't want to do this because they are afraid of conflict but what they need to realize is that the other person is probably even more afraid of getting into a situation than you are, and the fact that you initiated the situation panics them to a degree so they can't even think clearly about what's happening to them in the moment so they beta, as long as you don't pick "the wrong guy" which could be you.

This is one of the reasons I love New York so much.

It's not just socially acceptable but encouraged to call people out on bullshit here. If you cop an attitude, others will join in and call you can asshole too.

It's self regulating. I fucking love it. I think it's one of the reasons I have more faith in this country than I should. I forget just how much of America is filled with stupid, passive betas.

I firmly believe that only 10% of people are capable of effectively leading and influencing others. They've been co-opted, and we're almost fucked.
