and The Commander should make a thread "The Person Above me... "

That would be as pointless as the "What Are You Listening To Now?" thread, who really goes and looks at thread to see what people are listening to?

Really. Real pros use NSA spy satellites to see what people are listening to.

That doesn't do the film's actors justice. I say Eastwood, Wallach, and Van Cleef all equally shared the "stardom" from the movie, from start to finish.

Fixed, some adware got through. I fucked with public network settings and left it all open. Don't know if that did it or if the kids got into something, they were on last...

Some of Duke 3D levels are a little ridiculous, no?

I mean, look at E1L1 and E1L2, the roads all end in walls. There are dead ends in real life, but they don't look like that. Also there are no entrance to the buildings, they are made only of windows. It seems the guys from Shadow Warrior have taken a bit more care of these issues. At least levels like Bank Roll doesn't look that bad.

Also the inside of the buildings don't lead to nowhere. The two secret windows in E1L1 have no doors inside, and the cinema as a whole doesn't have access to other parts. And there are only two rooms in Hotel Hell? Stadium is probably the most unrealistic level of all.

Yeah Duke3D has a lot of abstract design, but thats the beauty of it. The buildings may not make much sense architecture wise, but they are also real locales

I addressed those things when I was re-making E1L1 in the Decay mod I have been working on every now and then. Roads lead into tunnels or cross streets. You're right, it doesn't take much effort to have the map make a lot more sense.

Now that I know a little more than before I could probably duplicate it. I'm sure other coders can too. Its basic stuff.

When you really think about it, a lot of the layouts don't really make sense. But IMO that's what makes Duke 3D level design so great; it's the ultimate, perfect blend between realistic and abstract design. You'd never be able to get away with such barely plausible, fantastic layouts in modern AAA realistic military FPS games, even if they tried to go non-linear, since they're much more strictly bound by physical limitations and real-world concepts.

How do bags of mixed cookies work in a house (or any social environment for that matter):

1- The one who opens the bag gives a quick glance of all the ones at the surface, he rewards himself with all the ones he likes, for the job of opening the bag without breaking it.
1bis: The one who opens it breaks the complete package, meaning that most cookies are identified, which punishes him with the last turn on chosing, he´s also insulted, generally, as a form of humillation for being stupid.

2- as the time goes, everywhere still looks only for the cookies their want, gradually hiding it, as the others pretend to be annoyed by it (but they do the same anyway).

3- The select cookies begin to become scarce, so the tension builds up and spending time looking at the bag is being objected by the rest with stronger words and threats.

4- Most of the select cookies are gone now, each one is given time to give a deep look, sticking the hand included. Only a few broken pieces are at the bottom of the bag.

5- As everybody realises the good ones are out, the package is neglected for years until someone tosses it to the garbage can. Almost half of its content is intact, which means mixed cookies are a waste and a great deal for manufacturers.

Objectively speaking, it's technically superior to the floppy drives.

Just a quick wiki search tells me that the Dot printers came out before the drives used for those midi synthesizers.
