Nice way to shit on the moral of that panel. It gives a very good advice to kids about people crossing the line.

With so many Forges around that kind of didactical stories should be dictated at school.

Had to destroy my RAID array (Only lost about 3 hours of work I didn't care about) and it's taken 5 hours to format a disk that was in that array, but, PROGRESS!
Posted Image

Unfortunately I discovered that another drive is completely stuffed so I have to do that one next and to make matters worse, when I went to upload that image I got this;
Posted Image

DX is a partial copy of my music folder, music I wrote - browser went here because last thing I did with it was an upload to SoundCloud. Most of the WRKs and MIDs are still on the music workstation just fine, but some of them are not around anymore (lost with a sequencer I sold in 2007) or are for synths I don't have anymore (Such as the Yamaha TX7). Looks like I'll have to format that other RAID Disk doesn't it? May as well back up all four drives as there are probably issues I'm not yet aware of and I'd rather not risk losing this stuff, should be able to fit it into the 4TB of space that I have. Makes no difference, none of these are getting used again except the ones I am backing things up to, the whole machine can go in the trash with a very short useful lifespan under it's belt, I'm not wasting more time or money on it.

Edit: Fox, is that on the NES? I heard once that SMW was originally planned to be on that system, seem to think there was a partial image of Nintendo's official map screen, I'll have to find it and compare the two.

Yes, but it's an "unofficial" port.

The number of years you have done something is irrelevant, but if you want me to go down that route; When that motherboard was relevant I was managing a network that supported 1000 clients, I wasn't getting paid and it was mostly voluntary, but it sure taught me a lot. I personally don't think faults that halt the machine often, cause software to not work or render the board unuseable are unimportant or vague, I think they are quite obviously a serious problem and if they are vague a quick Google search will turn up many archives of people suffering with them back then, possibly even me.

I had two nF2 boards, they were terrible, as for the blame;

I stated as much already. You trying to start an argument or some shit? Sure looks like it and I can't be bothered. The fact of the matter is, that whether it was nVidia's fault or not, those motherboards simply didn't work very well. None of those boards I had still work.

Too fast? Now that simply isn't true, if you want to run games like Blood at higher resolutions you'll need something like that - plus I could only have access to one machine at a time back then so it had to do everything, not everyone was/is running a computer the same way or for the same reasons you are. My current Athlon XP is the best system I have for games like that, though that one is on the older VIA KT133 and has an ISA slot negating the need for emulation.

I think the fact that very few motherboards still working today use the nForce 2, but there are certainly many VIA and SiS boards in operation, is a testament to the problems that nForce 2 boards had.

So what can we surmise? The boards were expensive, unstable, poorly designed, poorly made, had compatibility issues and didn't last as long as the alternatives, not good in my opinion. If you liked them, power to you, I'm not going to try and stop you, but they didn't work for me and it seems they didn't work for a lot of other people.

I'd like to add that I never used SATA back then as I deemed it was a waste of money, but every board I went near that had it back then either had or would develop serious issues very quickly. If I am sold a feature I expect it to be operable, whether I want it or not. What if I need it later? I never wanted the second Ethernet port, but I've needed it. Never wanted the extra RAM slots, but due to software requirements I've needed them, imagine if they didn't work? Wouldn't be very good would it? No, it wouldn't.

Uhhh....High Treason, did you just pad your post with code to make it difficult for me to reply?

Also, when were you managing this network? As for "tons of Via and SiS chipsets lying around," I'm not seeing these things anywhere. I can't even remember the last time I saw an Athlon XP box out in the wild.

That keeps happening... I notice it if I ever hit the edit button (which I do quite often). Hmm, I was not in a good mood yesterday was I?

The network? Mostly '04, I was only a teenager at the time and I spent rather a lot of the time I was supposed to be making sure things worked causing mischief. It came about because I was doing a course and the main network techie broke his back in a motorbiking accident, they figured it worked out cheaper to just let me loose on the network instead of hiring another guy to run it, leaving the guy who broke his back to yell instructions at me and throw crimping tools at me if I messed something up. This came about because I'd been tampering with computers for some time, I built the Athlon XP to replace a Duron I'd built in 2001, that replaced a Pentium MMX I'd not built but I'd certainly rebuilt it to get better performance. As for that business, it shut down because it turned out they had no insurance, had not beenCRB checked... This only came out after I told my school that my working conditions (indoor) reached -4 Celsius in winter and they took some action, I remember filming the thermometer with my crappy flip phone. I was relieved to be honest, hated being there but if I didn't attend I wouldn't be allowed into college.

Not many people use Athlon XP machines now, though there are a few, believe me, example being some people on this crappy forum still use them, or Pentium III's which would render it as an upgrade to them. Seems to have been a relevant thread when I still had 8 drives in... I'm glad I cleaned that up or this backup would take longer. I can probably dredge a few more posts up as there was a thread about what everyone's main box was but I don't remember where off the top of my head. IRL I know a guy that still used an Am286-8 until last year, but he is in his seventies.

Primarily now the motherboards are on eBay, at least eBay UK where there are definitely a lack of nForce 2 boards, though they do exist. If they aren't there, they are in the trash - though removing trash from anywhere in the UK is generally illegal for some stupid reason.

There are a lot of statistical problems with that study and the way it was reported.

Asking random people at a train station does not qualify as science. It lacks a control, did not use an objective measure, and was not really comparing apples to apples. If they wanted to do an accurate test of this, they would have to convince several hundred uncircumcised men to be circumcised after running multiple test on their uncircumcised penises. Then they would run the same test on their circumcised penises. They would also have a random sampling of men both circumcised and uncircumcised upon whom they run those same tests both times for a control comparison.

You can't objectively measure pleasure. But "asked to rate how sensitive their penis was, how intense their orgasms were and whether they experience any pain or numbness when they are aroused" seems to be as close as you get to it.

And asking adult men for genital mutilation would be immoral for a research (it's only okay on babies who can't make choices on their own), and hardly anyone would be willing to do it. But of course, you probably believe the effects of lobotomy, despite the lack of a recent research that actually involves lobotomizing people.

But since you mentioned science, you should ask yourself if you have a problem with the study itself, or you didn't liked the result?

I got into an argument with some degenerate car guy on my buddy's Facebook wall and posted Navy Seals copypasta as a reply. One of his degenerate friend's chimed in. What a stupid bitch. She straight up blocked me. One of the people who liked her post is a shitbag who crashed his Evo into Tatoo Lou's a couple years back while street racing.

Car culture: Not even once. Seriously, you will never find worse people.

I have a problem with the study itself. It is flawed and unscientific. It is akin to a forum poll about penis size.

The only ethical problems with what I proposed as an actual scientific study on circumcision would be if you didn't tell them what they were signing up for (and if it actually proved anything).

i'm mutilated and i have no issues with pain, numbness, and problems with sensitivity.
this is moot and i don't have any qualms with a test showing unmutilated men enjoying sex more.

my beef is with the tested individuals. aside from the totally skewed numbers of 1,059 vs. 310, i'm concerned with where they passed these leaflets out. They got results from a bunch of train station pervos that specialize in bathroom stall glory holes. Anybody who gets off when they have their pecker smacked with the heel of a shoe should not be asked these types of questions.
