it seems like everyone wants to sit back and point fingers, but they're too scared to step in and fix the mess.

How would you fix it?

Think I might need to upgrade my downstairs computer as my laptop appears to be gradually getting worse and worse. Yesterday, I was in the middle of playing F.E.A.R and it suddenly decided to switch off without warning. Today, I decided to give DNF DM a try which seemed pretty fun and what did my laptop decide to do again? Shut down right in the middle of going through a crawl space, though I managed to fit in one game on Duke Burger.

in similar fashion to the Serb-Croat/Bosnia-Herzegovina situation when Yugoslavia broke up

-without waiting for the war crimes, rape, and politico/ethnic cleansing to happen first

'course about forty people were just murdered so intervening before the war crimes - politico cleansing thing might be too late, but if the EU/Nato waits long enough, I'm sure we'll all get to enjoy hearing about more

if we all hold hands, sing kum-ba-yah, and pretend nothing is happening, Russia can go all Georgia on that ass, and we can look the other way

NATO said already to move troops into Easter Europe, I think a couple of our (Canadian) soldiers are on their way Posted Image

It's about real estate, methinks. Ukraine got a junk of land from Russia a long time ago, and Russia does not want it now to be part of Europe. Europe in turn has a long history of land shuffling, so they are not exactly strangers to moving in if it is of interest to them. Posted Image

The Ukraine borders have been generally the same for several centuries and haven't changed much since the time it was under the control of Poland.

Ukraine is rich in mineral resources.
When the territory belonged to Russia, Russian citizens moved in to work the resources. They still live there.
Ukraine's "controversial" government wants to be part of the EU.
Native Russians don't want to be allied with EU, they want to stay loyal to Russia.

let the killing begin.

i was being general. Since 1654 when the Kiev asked Russia for protection from poland is when the Ukraine inherited huge chunks of land and started the politico/religious/ethnic divisions.
i understand what i said is similar to saying the united states is basically the same now as it was right after the war of 1812.
i don't want to offend anybody.

It looks as if Sundays referendum vote is going to be delayed, Ukraine has a presidential election scheduled for May 25th I think. How are they planning to let the people vote, while carrying out military actions against them?

Oh, and it seems Putin, and his army, have backed away from the borders to enjoy the shit show from a good safe distance.

Ukraine has on and off occupied most of the territory within its current borders and then some since around the late 900's
but, all through its history, even at the height of its power and largest extent of its territory, Ukraine (Kievan-Rus) never occupied the Crimean peninsula until it was annexed to them by Russia

You know both are fake right? For the second one the author even made a "behind the scenes" video. He used a static camera to record a train passing by and then record him pretending to stumble into the rail, then mixed both videos.

did the same guy make both of them?
the fall in the first one looks way fake and staged
the second one looks well done with the exception of the date stamp acting wobbly and the lines on the sides of the screen for dramatic effect when the train passes

The country that doesn't like violence celebrates honour and weapons like any other patriotic country?

Which country officially loves violence? ... and yes, those that fight for Canadian interests, do get honoured, Canadian style

If you think Canada hasn't been in its own share of battles (including WWI & WWII), as well as a history on conflicts on its own soil dating back to the 17th century, then you underestimate how dangerous that "pacifist" nation truly is.

It's like that quiet guy sitting over in the corner of the pub minding his own business. You don't know what he's got on him or what kind of fight training he has until you fuck with him and find out too late.

We can still dislike violence while being honourful and carrying weapons. When men with guns start to like violence its high time to take away the weapon.
