In the near future I plan on selling some excess stuff on various internet sites. Some of them have no built-in photo hosting. Can someone recommend a file hosting site that you have had good luck with. I'm willing to pay a small monthly fee for a bare-bones completely ad free hosting site that has easy drag and drop for files that can be linked to. Nothing more. No fancy sorting or displaying programs. Probably not more than a couple of hundred MB will ever be needed and files will be short term storage. Doing a Google search brings up so many choices with all claiming to be the best and past experience has showed that they have annoying strings attached.

photobucket off the top of my head. Works for me. It's pretty much what you asked for exactly, and free, but it does also have a library type sorting page too.

I use PhotoBucket mostly. I pay a bit for my subscription so people don't have to suck down adds just to see an image. Been with them for a few years now with little issue.

According to their policy statement other people will see adds when viewing my pics unless they are also members.

" No Ads: When you're logged into your Photobucket Plus account, you won't see any ads on Photobucket pages (note, viewers of your images within Photobucket will see ads unless they, too, have Plus accounts)."

Does this mean that viewers will see ads ONLY if they are viewing my pics from within the Photobucket website itself, but no ads if they are viewing the pic through a 3rd party website link?

EDIT: I answered my own question. I clicked on one of MrBlackCat's pics in a thread and this is what I received. More than just the pic. Exactly what I don't want.

I have used GoogleSites for sharing a gif once. I mean, I have also used GoogleSites for other things, but I think that might be worth looking into.

Take a look at fox's post above me here. He used photobucket but just linked direct to html. Not the photobucket ad link they offer up for the forums like Mr. BlackCat happened to use.

Photobucket has a link button. It will pop up a selection window. It creates links for email or for forums or HTML. You want HTML it links direct to the image like fox did.

Is that ad free link like Fox's pic for free or is that the paid version? I'm assuming the paid version. I suppose I should also check Photobucket's terms of service to see if I might get blasted with junk offers or emails. Although, if I do get junk emails they are easy enough to filter out these days.

I wouldn't pay for image hosting. Spam is not a matter for me since I use secondary e-mails for registrations or stuff. Or you can try temporary e-mail services like YOPmail.

I did give them my legit email. I regret it, good for one email a week at least. Yes it is free, don't pay for image hosting. Look into google sites for free hosting too.

I miss my old Roadrunner free webspace they use to give to all accounts when signing up for internet access. It was a simple procedure to drag and drop files just like it was another folder on your computer. Nothing else. Simple to use, no ads, no junk email. That is what I would ultimately want and would be willing to pay a small monthly fee for. But alas, there doesn't seem to be anything like this that I can find. So I'll try free Photobucket first and see if its close enough to what I want.

b.t.w. imgur has tracking issues as well, but is much easier to use.

I just read your last post, yep, times are changing .... but if you have a normal email (paid) simply put every known address to a white list, everything else not on this list simply gets deleted even before it uses space on my server. I get like two emails per day.

Yeah... actually I didn't consider that. You can simply NOT use thumbnails though. I only do that to keep large images/bandwidth killers to a minimum and not to shove unwanted images down anyones throat. Take this image for example... no one wants an 8 inch Duke in their face... well some people do, but they aren't likely the majority... well maybe they are here... some ReAlLy sTrAnGe people here.

Why? Our brain is used to seeing these lines a 3D, but it's not genuinely 3D. The same goes for 4D.

This year sucks ass. I've about given up on the workstation side of things now, it's as stable as I can get it but it's still a pieceashit, Intel were clearly on crack when they released the Core chips. I turned my efforts towards the bike but having now twice replaced everything involved in actually driving the wheel the problem of the whole thing skipping in third gear is not going away. I can't afford a new hub, nor am I likely going to be able to in the foreseeable future. I'm currently broke to the point that I have to put water on my cereal as I can no longer afford milk, seriously have to cut back on cigarettes and probably use the internet less as that's a rather huge bill every month.

I'm about one inch from having a breakdown because everything in my life constantly fucks up and anything I try to do to make it better also fucks up and makes it worse. I also lost my temper properly for the first time in years yesterday and destroyed a chunk of my kitchen, this was the result of a chain of events that unfolded over the day. The first major thing to bother me was that finally after years and years of being ignored by women I'd actually started talking to one, only exchanging text messages, eventually no replies arrived and it seems she isn't talking to me anymore. Most of my life has been rejection so I don't give a fuck about that, but lack of manners pisses me off, I'd be happier if I was simply told to fuck off. Some electronics broke, that happens a lot these days, they're getting old and the failures are simple, I just can't afford to fix them. Then my last remaining friend comes around, constantly fucking rubbing it in how he has a great fucking life now, he can throw money around, his life is getting better and better, same thing as everyone else I used to know, pisses me the fuck off, I'm smarter than everyone I knew and I worked a lot harder than them for nothing whilst everyone told me I'd amount to nothing. Do understand I'm happy for him, but I know it's inevitable he's not going to speak to me much longer because that always happens once people go off into the workplace, get some money and whatever else. I tell him to shut the fuck up but he just keeps going, probably want's me to be even more depressed, it's clear he doesn't give a fuck. He's lecturing me on how great his life is as it's dawning on me I'm going to be struggling to eat next week and I enter the kitchen to get myself a meal only to find I've run out of a few things that I can't afford. That was the final straw for me, I remember shit about it, all I remember past that point is standing in the back yard squeezing my head with my hands, shaking violently and yelling at nothing in particular, felt like I wasn't really there, then I discovered my kitchen was trashed and nobody was around. I've been to the doctor but there's no help for me, shit is set to get worse and there's nothing I can do about it. Obviously there's also nobody to talk to about it, so I'm just venting here to make myself feel better.
