Then I'm not worried. I wasn't gonna approve latest Win XP updates anyway since migration to Win7 was in order.

I've always done updates manually anyway, though I've been running solely on Windows 7 for the past two months and am moving to Windows 8 in the coming months. XP is now only running on older machines where it's the best system for them (P3 era) so I'm not worried.

Oh, completely unrelated, but I'm in a bad mood because I've just discovered I pay more rent than the neighbors.

Because Windows 98 wasn't supported for over a decade. And neither it was so ubiquitous as XP was, which is why it got overextended supported.

Seriously though the router out here is so God damn bad I can't do jack shit, plus the motherboard on my kick ass Asus laptop fried two days before I left. Now I'm stuck using a fucking Compaq Presario V6000 with a dual core 2GHz Turion and a GeForce 6150. It took me a full day to find drivers that didn't have broken Aero support, and even then I had to mod the INF file. Eat a dick, Nvidia.

I can't believe I'm reduced to using a Compaq Presario. It's like showing up to a car meet in a fucking Geo. You can't be an enthusiast and rock a fucking Compaq.

Hey, man, count yourself lucky. I've been stuck using what was essentially an RM One for around two months now. Features a whopping great Intel G35 Express Graphics controller and PCI-E slots locked down so you can't install third party GPUs. Not to mention the slowest motherboard ever... Core 2 chips aren't at their best under my normal applications but I think any processor would run horribly slow in this board under any task, Intel simply designed a bad board.

I actually miss my Presario 2100US, it ran an Athlon XP-M 2800+ but at least it had a Radeon IGP with a decent amount of memory so I could get shit done.
