Meh I've been to clubs, having fun and not being drunk while I was abroad. I was completely relaxed, confident and mellow then. But it's all been going downhill since I came back, not sure why. I think living at home surrounded by negative people turns me into a lazy, bitter, antisocial ass.

Still I'm going, maybe I'll meet someone else who is completely out of place.

You could have also had the "I'm never seeing any of these people ever again." attitude.

When someone gives you an email address to write to how long does it take to assume that person is simply ignoring your letters? 1 week should be enough, right?

1 week should be, for emails, yeah. Of course, depending on lots of things, it could just mean they haven't gotten to it yet.

"Haven't gotten to it" should only apply if internet was down(for a week!) or something like that. Knowing that someone is going to write there and not bother to check is simply not caring. I think I should hold my horses before assuming anything, but it is still depressing.

Yeah, or the "I'm a foreigner - people will be interested in me no matter what I do!" thing.

Depending the content of the email and the person, they may want to take their time to respond.

I usually do reply almost immediately to emails (or at least with in a day of seeing it) but there have been times where I let it sit in my inbox for a few days before mulling over a response. It all depends.

Of course, I also have been sending resumes and cover letters everywhere and I have gotten a very small percentage of responses for those which is highly frustrating.

I think "do you have a jabber account?" or "Is it the right email address?" questions are easily enough to answer. :)

Our designated driver didn't want to go anymore all of a sudden, so we got drunk in a pub instead (even though I'm on meds... probably not the best idea, but I haven't puked my guts out yet so it's probably fine) and I spent the night at a friend's house. Had been a while since I did that... it was good times! :)

puking your guts out probably has very little to do with it
more like pumping too many depressants or some other chemical imbalance into your brain and causing it to shut down resulting in a coma
good luck and hope to see you soon

So, I think I am about to be a victim of a scam. I responded to an ad on Craigslist and the person replied right away (which, honestly, isn't a red flag, but is shocking) and wants me to ship packages to a foreign address that he has forwarded to me. My roommate tells me that the post office warns about a scam where people use stolen credit cards to buy stuff and link it to an address which then ships it out of the US. And they send counterfeit money orders as "payment" to the person who works for them.

I need to find a way to answer this email in such a way that gets information and confirms that this person is real but does not make me lose the potential job (if it is real). I'm glad I have a roommate who pays more attention than I do.

Yeah, a real estate company ordering electronics and clothing? It sounds like I'd be doing his personal shopping which makes no sense. And the fact that I can't find this guy online (LinkedIn or anything) and he never gave a company name is just suspicious.

Still trying to pluck up the courage to get my hair shaved off. I've never really had short hair, it was at it's shortest when I was fourteen, and that wasn't short - this was also the last time I had it cut.

And that was an improvement over what was there before.

Heh, I'd forgotten what my face used to look like back when smiled more, I miss those days.

i also miss the ice arena, I miss my Dad, I miss being able to walk more than a mile without almost blacking out and going hypoglycemic, I miss not being underweight no matter how much I eat whilst doctors struggle to find out why, I miss not being single and I miss having anything that remotely resembled a decent social life. Still, I can keep on trying.

Sorry to be such a depressive git, but it's 1:02 AM and I suddenly found a need to get that out of my system, I've had a crappy few months, things do seem to be getting a bit better at least.

I could have rephrased that better, yes. Scam averted.

The guy responds with partial answers to my questions (I asked about taxes and what company he was hiring me for). He was very interested in getting my address and name. Way too interested in getting my address and name.

He didn't want to interview a person who was going to be receiving and sending packages for him. That makes no sense, really. Not even a phone interview or references. He said my resume was "good enough" and immediately tried to offer me a job. It sounded way too good to be true.
