@Sangman; You've done a damn sight better than me anyway, I didn't sign up to one, a friend signed me up. In about 2 years I have had 3 responses to anything I've sent, the first was from someone my friend wrot to without telling me, I had no interest in the woman and nothing to talk to her about, but at least she was sociable. The second was some heavy metal chick who I kinda liked but she disappeared from the site, probably something I said. The third was some woman that wrote back once with a lengthy message about history (which she claimed to be interested in) - it was also greek history, no problem, I have an interest in that to an extent so I figured that was the direction of that conversation... she never wrote back again though. All these were in the span of a few months over a year ago.
Basically, I wish you the best of luck.
In my own situation I suspect I write too much, I'm incredibly boring and I look like crap and about age 40 (Well, 35 is the average when I get people to guess) - I suppose I could try talking to an older woman but that isn't really my kinda thing. I remeber what it was like when I was 16, I could get any girl I wanted, then around a year later the effect kinda wore off overnight. I also think I scare women (and men) as they usually run away when I try talking to them in the street or in clubs and therefore suspect the internet is no exception.
If you want to laugh at my profile and use it as a guide on how not to set yours up I can post up a link.

Don't worry I'm sure there are more than enough to go around. A guy I worked with met one woman who wanted her dog to get involved (with its tongue). And it did. He was creeped out but didn't leave.

I'm sure if you find someone with similar interests and don't come off as too needy you will be fine.

Is it normal for people at work to share those kind of stories? I'm always freaking out when someone at work start talking about personal stuff. Can't imagine someone telling about sexual stuff...

I don't know how you look, and i honestly don't care because i'm not gonna date you >.> But since you are here, i suspect that you have long hair and beard too. If that's true then i can't blame the ladies. If you really wanted a real girlfriend, then start working out and upgrade your looks. This is harsh post, but some people needs a push, including myself

Bullshit.
Edit: Actually, perhaps that is too harsh, but having been in relationships I can tell you that real, long-term girlfriends don't give a tinker's dam about appearances - at least, when it comes to muscle mass...
What's important is how you carry yourself.

Depending on laws and who is around, you can get fired for talking about that sort of stuff. It can be considered sexual harassment.

As a response to this and some other posts above complaining about shallow folks on dating sites, great matches are hard to find. Especially for you folks... Given the content and layout of your posts, I assume that most of you have above-average IQs.

I have found that the best thing to do is to stay local and try to meet up with people who have similar interests. Join night classes at the local community college. When you go to bars or dating websites, you are polling the general population - and let's face it, the general population is dumb as a carton of eggs.

This is true. However there are some paid websites out there that might be worth checking out, I'm not willing to pay for that stuff yet though (maybe later if need be

500 pound weight is a pretty objective characteristic that goes way beyond limits of being "normal". While "men that doesn't make something out of themselves" is as vague as it can be, besides being highly subjective.
