That was in deliciously bad taste. All that picture is missing is a swastika and an aborted fetus.

If it makes you feel any better, sometimes I dress up as Hitler and I perform abortions to make extra cash.

I have been too busy to stop and think about the date. I remember where I was and unlike the undergraduates at my school, I remember watching the towers fall on TV; but I almost forgot what date it was today. I remembered as I was checking my email this morning.

Yes, the Jews love my service.

That one is also hilarious. I've been posting all kinds of pictures on Facebook since last night.

My family and I visited the lobby area of one of the twin towers back in '93. Humongous stuff, looking straight up while at ground level almost gave me vertigo. Looking back now I'm sad that we never went up to the top but it was a busy day there so we decided to pass it on.

I was recently at the memorial. I had never been to NYC before so I didn't know the true scale of the buildings. The memorial is pretty incredible, actually. Once they actually finish the whole museum/memorial, it should be pretty nice.

I don't have the pictures from my visit (my girlfriend does on her computer and hasn't shared them with me) but the whole site is pretty impressive now. It is a shame that it took them so long to finish it, really. All that political bull shit that got in the way.

Wow. So am I the only one who, when September starts, remembers that "oh in 10 days it'll be X years since 9/11"? Are you guys seriously that forgetful or do you not pay attention to dates at all?

While I don't really pay attention to any of the dates(good or bad), I'm really surprised someone would be thinking about "in X days it'll be Y years since Z date". If you weren't involved in that tragedy personally that is strange be thinking like that(at least to me) and perhaps(!) you should let it go.

If the person does have a slight social disability (autism), it can be seen as an insult. Then the person is going to get defensive because of it.

.....
With all the shit that's been going on forums since, well, forever you were really offended by that? Say "fuck you, Sangman" and be done with it.

If I recall correctly, Jeff is actually disabled, ergo, his comment is kind of merited.

Sang's a reasonable guy, anything he says is likely in jest. On the flipside, Jeff is a cool cat too.

I also recall that, but is it an insult to ask if mentally disabled person is mentally disabled?

Let's just say Bill Gates and myself have something in common.

Sorry I kind of misinterpreted "retarded" for handicapped. My emotions were a bit high at the time, so I didn't act rationally.

Eh I'm not saying I spend all September crying in a corner but I see nothing wrong with not forgetting about a date that shaped the entire last decade. ;)

I don't know. Is it an insult to ask a normal person if they are mentally disabled? Anyway, I have friends with Aspergers so it's cool. Truthfully - and no offense to Jeff or anyone - I can't honestly classify Aspergers as a handicap any more than I would ADHD. Yeah it usually means being slightly "weird" (whatever that means) and you just function differently, but a handicap - in my opinion - implies barely functioning at all. I realize that might be a dickish thing to say but that's just how I see it.

Good question...why did we go to Libya?

In other news, Microsoft has a patent for something resembling a holodeck. Get ready for some of that...

I'm all in favour of a healthy amount of nukage.
After all, the world would be better off without Bill O'Reilly & co.

Hey, we built the damn things...we might as well use them. I mean, what good does it do to build weapons and then never use them? Seems to wasteful to me.

If you get rid of Bill O'Reilly, you also have to get rid of Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, and Ed Schultz.
Bill O'Reilly's not even that far-right. I have heard him agree with Obama on more than a few topics lately.

So all these years of drinking gallons of Pepsi may have ended up with me getting a caffeine allergy recently in the last year or so. I seem to cough and wheeze every time I consume anything with caffeine in it. Didn't happen before. That, and my throat is kind of sore.

Holy shit that sucks, Jeff. I don't know what I could do without caffeine. However, have you tried just drinking black coffee? Perhaps its sugar or another common ingredient amongst soda pops. I've been trying to cut down on those things, they're poison. Coffee is wonderful and I'd kill myself without it.

I didn't realize how much of the stuff I actually consumed throughout my life. Based on one pepsi per day until the last 3 years, which I stepped it up to 3 a day, amounts to about 6.35 kiloliters of the stuff. That's enough to fill one of these (and then some) or about 40 of these. Feels absolutely sickening how much I consumed. I never realized how much I did until I did some math.

I've tried coffee before, but I didn't like the taste.

Don't feel too bad, I used to down groups of two liter bottles. But then I read about a thing called diabetes and I've cut it way down. Sometimes even going two or three weeks with no soda at all. I've lost about 20 pounds in the process (10~ months) with minimal working out.
