It's pretty rare for me to run into transit cops twice in one day.

So after a few years of inactivity I resurrected my Steam account and purchased Borderlands GOTY edition, with all 4 DLCs included. It's over 12 GB and will take most of the day to download. Should be fun, though.

It is an enjoyable game, I know that the PC version annoyed a lot of people but the game itself is tasty. I might even buy it for myself when it's next on sale.

Installing Windows 8 Consumer Preview on a virtual machine to check it out. Apparently my Bios wasn't set up for Virtualization Tech so I had to figure out where the configuration of that was in the menu. Pain.in.the.rear.

I'm curious to see how Windows 8 works without a touch screen and if it is useable for what I use my computer for.

Been debating getting Windows 8, but I heard it was for tablets more than for regular desktop users. Might just stick with Windows 7. It's been pretty good for me.

Wasn't big on the Metro interface, but I found a way to turn it off when I had the developer preview installed.

Windows 8 is officially off my radar. Even if I could turn off the app screen, I can't see how the thing would be useful. It isn't an upgrade, in my opinion. On a phone or tablet, sure...but not on an actual computer.

The Start Menu rendered an apps screen obsolete a hundred years ago.

I need to stop messing around with things and get productive...I have a list of side projects added on to my list of assignments due for school in the not so distant future.

So I was making some food tonight and when I put the raw meat in the crock pot to cook, Cosmo jumped up and starting licking it. I got a little worried since for us, raw meat will make people very sick. However, I've read wild cats such as cheetahs will kill birds and eat them uncooked, so perhaps he won't get sick. I also read cats love eating meat and drinking fresh blood.

Actually, you can eat raw meat and not get sick. The problem is that modern mass produced meats are generally covered in various bacteria by the time they get to you. Eating a rare steak isn't a problem because bacteria can't really permeate deep into the meat, it resides primarily on the surface. I've eaten raw meats fresh after slaughter, and it's great. Most of the time when I cooked I don't cook anywhere past rare unless the recipe really calls for it (or it's ground meat.)

I guess I didn't really think about it when I posted that message.

On saturday I managed to buy alcohol without being asked to show my ID for the first time. I feel like man.

A 1992 adventure game called Town With No Name (based on an idea by Charlie Watts!) that looks like an elongated piece of Youtube poop.

Still better than DNF, of course.

Think they stopped asking me for ID when I was around 21 or so. Legal age in Alberta is 18, 19 everywhere else. Although my mom tells me back when she was a kid, it was 21, and just when she turned 21, they switched it back to 18.

Well I'm having my wisdom teeth out today under general anaesthetic, so I had a big breakfast and am not allowed to eat anything for 6 hours, this is going to be tough.

Good luck. I had all four of mine pulled at once when I was 15. Everyone told me it would hurt like hell but that didn't happen... it's just really annoying. I could not eat properly for two weeks and had to walk with ice around my jaws almost the entire time. This was in the middle of the Christmas period as well...

I like going to the dentist, although I've never had anything pulled out so maybe that helps.

I had my wisdom teeth out about 10 years ago. They didn't put me out. They did give me some morphine, but I didn't really need it. I wasn't in excruciating pain or anything. They said I have a high tolerance for it.

Although they do keep reminding me to floss better. I can't seem to get between the gumline especially with the back teeth. I use one of those floss picks (handle with a floss attachment on it. Easier than doing it manually). Can't seem to see anything back there, so it's kind of hard to put the floss between the teeth. I usually just push down until I hit the gumline, but I only seem to get one side of the tooth. Not both sides.

I had to let two of mine (furthest back on each side) rot out of my head because I didn't have dental insurance when they started to fall apart. Good times! :)

I don't mind going to the dentist, except when I have to get cavities filled. The stuff they inject you with to numb you does not work on me. Drills feel wonderful!

Why calling someone fat considered a bad thing? Being fat is mostly not a subjective opinion, but a fact. Deal with it and not whine or change your lifestyle.
