Well, to be fair, Europe was racist. Israel as a nation exists today entirely because in the early part of the 20th century Europe wanted to get rid of all the Jews from Europe.

There's an interesting graphic novel called 'the Protocols' by Will Eisner (the creator of The Spirit' and father of the graphic novel). It's actually non-fiction. It's based upon the book 'the protocols of the Elders of Zion' which is a flagrant plagarism of yet another book which was admitted to being entirely made up. But basically it's the starting trigger of the whole Europe distrusting Jews.

It's amazing what one learns reading comic books.

I'm using portable Firefox x64 (technically Pale Moon) on a computer where I don't have admin rights, and I need Flash. However, I can't extract the DLL from the installer and I can't just install it at home and copy the DLL because the installer itself is 64-bit.

tl;dr: I need a helpful person to install the 64-bit Windows Flash RC for "other browsers" then send me NPSWF64*.dll.

Note that it's against the license agreement to post the DLL publicly so send me a PM or email.

Interesting. I heard once it was Julius Wellhausen who made it "popular"* to hate Jews in the 19th/20th century. Of course, I think to a certain extent, he was more a product of his environment than anything else. I think there was a later interpretation of Nietzsche that helped contribute to the whole business of Nazis but, still, that is later than the start of anti-Semitism in Europe.

Really, it all comes down to the fact that Christians couldn't take interest on a loan (a less than great interpretation to begin with) so only Jews could be bankers (hence the Wish Upon a Weinstein episode of Family Guy etc). Since Jews were bankers they made money, this made Christian Europeans uncomfortable and lots of less than nice things were said about them throughout the ages.
In the end, the lesson is that stereotypes, though not always currently true, tend to have factual and historical bases.

*On second thought, Wellhausen was just some scholar. He made it popular to hate Jews in academia...and, yet, we still read his book today as part of PhD. comprehensive exams...

If Mass Effect made an MMORPG, which was something Casey Hudson (project lead/head game designer) was discussing after they finish Mass Effect 3. I think a lot of people would start saying stuff like Reapers are overpowered, etc. Although, as an MMORPG, you probably won't play as Commander Shepard. Probably some Alliance military dude. Or if you were on the enemies side, you probably couldn't play as Harbinger. Assume this!

A Mass Effect MMORPG could only succeed if you can play as any race introduced in the game as being part of the military. I figure you would face off against the Reapers group rather than have them as a playable part. It wouldn't work to let you play as them. However, letting people play as Asari, Turrian, Human, etc would work.

I guess so, but then again, lore wise, all those races you listed are friendly with humans. Well most of them anyways. Then again, there might be say, Asari, but you might even get to play as an Eclipse merc. Or if you were a Krogan, you might be a Blood Pack merc. Probably not though. Eh, I like RPG's better. No grinding and such.

Watch while you can. I'll probably delete it soon.

Not too satisfied with it. That headset makes clicking noises when I move my head too much. I could've did better if I was able to move my head freely with the lines.

I couldn't hear any noticeable clicking sounds (unless you meant you didn't move your head to avoid the clicking). It's a pretty good job, even if it could be a bit deeper, but I'd imagine depth is hard to impersonate.

Correct. I could go deeper than that, I just didn't listen to Jon St. John first to adjust the depth of my voice. I do the voice better standing up for some reason as well. I'll probably make a better video later on. Going to see how people react to this one.

Edit: I've recorded my Duke voice and reduced the quality to about the same quality as Duke3D's voice clips before. The resemblance is pretty much identical.

You should stop trying to...well, I can't think of anything creative or pithy enough to put here but assume it was something that made you look like a pervert or something.

Watching these videos on people with home servers is pretty cool. I always wanted to turn one of my old machines into a file server.

I have some really important exams in about a month's time, so I'm forced to do several hours of textbook questions every day for preparation. It is not fun...

Specialist Maths, Maths Studies, Chemistry, Physics and French. I spent the past 3 days doing Specialist Maths; polynomials, trigonometry, complex numbers and vectors, and I still have geometric proof, calculus and differential equations left :S I think I might leave those for later and some easier Maths in the meantime.

Edit: anyone got any good revision tips for exams?

Not for those kinds of exams. I never took anything that advanced in school.

Wouldn't want to be this guy's tech support

Remember it the first time :(

It depends on your style of learning. I take extensive notes usually and retain the information fairly well so when it comes to exam time, I usually go over my notes a few times but I tend to already know stuff (providing I did it the first time). Languages are a lot like Maths (to me anyway) so just knowing the rules and how things are written out can make doing Maths extremely easy. Of course, there are times when I don't know the rules as well as I'd like and then I forget the vocabulary and, well, that is the end of that...
It comes down to memorization but you have to choose what to memorize. In languages I tend to memorize rules and some vocabulary that grows over time and usage. Many times I've seen a word and then looked it up only to be like "Oh, yeah, I knew that; it is used in that one thing I read last year" which is kind of frustrating but cool at the same time. Only people with photographic or really good memories could just memorize everything so us normal people have to focus on particular things and maximize points on exams etc.

Of course, it depends on your style of learning and whether or not you actually want to know this stuff. Some people just complain about school but I find that is because they are taking boring classes (in their own POV, of course. I don't know why anyone would want to study medicine, but people enjoy it). I've gone out of my way to take interesting classes with interesting professors (in college, in high school I had less options).
