Your sister is subversively telling you that you need to get some pussy.

Props for the pun.

Cats are barely any work...Honestly, I used to have pet rats and they needed more attention.

Whelp, just burned myself on my laptops AC adapter! The barrel plug was hot as fuck. I guess that's the end of that!

These Toshiba 120W adapters are clearly not up to the superior quality of the Asus adapters I SHOULD be using...

It's not that I don't like spiders, it's that I don't like those kind of spiders.

That question somehow reminds me on scorpions ... those I actually like, some are harmless

I think it has finally gotten to the point where I need new disc drive(s). My two older ones aren't recognizing media all the time. I'm fairly certain it isn't the media and I don't think it is the OS (Windows 8). I think it is the drives being old. Maybe they need to be flashed with a new firmware but I can't find any online (they aren't real name brand drives). I think I will have to break down and get a new drive at some point. No need for a Blu-Ray burner/reader, but that is an option for me since the drives are finally getting down to affordable prices.

Here we are, having a nice conversation about giant spiders resting on people's vaginas and you just had to come and ruin it.

I was going to say that after having three monitors with Nvidia Surround, it's really hard to go back to one monitor. Screen size feels so small compared to what I have now.

I used to have two monitors. I miss the other one....I want to get another one when I have money and the desk space again.

I didn't think I would have enough room on my desk for three monitors, but it was a tight squeeze. Had to move some stuff off, but I managed to fit all the monitors on there.

I got a job!

I got offered two jobs today and found myself in the exact position I wanted to avoid and felt like I was going to find myself in: I had to choose between two awesome opportunities that aren't permanent and aren't rich living *(one richer than the other). And now I have to turn down an interview that would be in a job that pays well but might not be rewarding otherwise.

I had to debate and I had a whole morning and part of an afternoon to debate internally. I ended up going with a less paying job that will hopefully turn into a permanent position with a company that I enjoy and support.

not everybody has the ethical fortitude to sell third rate porn out of the back of a van

I know. But I am trooper. I believe in the job. Not everyone has the same beliefs, but I think selling porn out of a van is the way for me to go. One could even say, it is where God is calling me.

I wouldn't believe that. If God cared he wouldn't have created anything.

Windows XP doesn't seem to like dual-booting between PATA and SCSI drives.

I give up, 98 can run from a PATA drive and suffer the performance penalty. Presumably it won't affect it too much if I run everything else from the SCSI drives.

I have seen so many Format and Install screens these past three days that I don't know if I ever want to see them again!

So after wrestling with the Unreal Engine to try and figure out this texture popping issue for a couple days, it came down to a simple tweak in Nvidia Inspector. Just reset the profile for the game back to the default settings. Problem solved.

I guess what was happening, was the game's LOD bias and the Nvidia inspector LOD bias were playing tug of war with eachother. I had all the game's LOD settings set to -1 (highest mip level I believe), and the Nvidia Inspector settings were something like -3.00. I feel kind of silly for not noticing it, but I'm glad it's fixed. Kind of drove me a bit nuts.

Must have forgot about the setting since my judgement was a clouded when I spent days deleting configuration files and changing all those settings.

There's something I haven't done in a while. Maybe I should give all this tweaking a rest and fire up Flight Simulator X. Haven't done a short trip in a while with my 737 NGX aircraft. Probably collecting dust.
