It spins that quickly because that is what happens when I apply 12 Volts DC to it, it is barely audible to be honest, given how loud the graphics card, power supply and radiator fans seem to be.

As for the condensation, I'll be careful, I suspect I may have to cool the room itself to cut down on the risk of condensation though.

@Hank, if noone's posted there for a few days or so just go ahead. It doesn't make sense to have to wait for people to respond to old stuff before putting up new stuff (not to mention the mods won't care too much )

I never had a problem with Siegler, but I heard a lot of people complain about him.

He did snap once when I merely joked about an error in one of the screen shots in his Duke 3D Walkthrough.

Seems he's easy to snap. I think he's just grown jaded from all the garbage people who've come and gone during his time. You either have to grow a thick skin or give it up altogether. That would make anybody quite cynical.

I used to have an issue with Joe, but I don't any longer. He's a cool guy, and he's done a lot for the community, whether recognised or otherwise. However, he's just not a very lenient moderator. He tried his best to keep the forums professional and corporate. I can't hold that against him, it was his job.

It wasn't funny, he had finished the walkthrough and was wondering if there was any problems with it, I ran through it and noticed the Queen was clipping through the floor;

I can't remember my exact words, I think I sarcastically made out that it was a big problem and must be fixed immediately like;

How did he snap? It's obvious that no one was going to fix it, especially with sprites not acting like that in polymost and above. Can't believe he would have over reacted to something like that.

Edit: I'm currently in possession of codeine which is apparently strong enough to be used with broken bone victims. It's an opiate and people can get addicted to it with prolonged use. Does anyone know if I'll get high it I take a pill? (recommended medical dose)

The new Core i7's (Sandy Bridge) are being released on January 5th. Time to start looking at upgrading. The i7 2600 is supposed to run close to the i7 970 and it's supposed to beat the i7 980X in a few tests. Not all of them though. Certainly not video encoding. The 980X is about twice as fast as my current Q9550, and the i7 970/2600 is not that far behind the 980X.

Might be overkill, but if you play CPU intensive games like me, then it's worth it.

Yeah duke nukem 3D polymer with dynamic lights

I got my computer at a fairly good deal and everything was towards the higher end. Right now (a year or two later) according to the windows experience index, the slowest parts are the ram and hard drive, both fairly easy to replace, and the second slowest is the graphics card, which I I'll replace down the line.

I'm not actually sure whether the 2600 is close to the i7 950 or the 970. Some sources say it's close to the 950, others say it's closer to the 970. Some say that these chips coming in a few days are either low or mid range chips. They also said that this first batch of chips only has dual channel memory, unlike the i7 920 or 950. The real upgrade for some people will come in Q2-Q3 2011 when they release the hex and octo core chips which have PCI-e 3.0, USB 3, and SATA 3.
