;) I pop my chain at least three times a year and nothing has ever happened to me, especially back when I was younger and popped my chain once a week jumping off all the curbs around the neighborhood. ;) I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

LOL!

I went to burn a DVD and Windows didn't even recognize my drive. I got a little scared and started rationalizing spending $100 on a new BluRay Burner to replace a dead drive. Of course, I don't have $100 to spend right now but I do have an old drive (CD burner/DVD reader) to fill in until I would have money to upgrade...
Then I restarted the computer in linux (since I wanted to try something out there first) and it shows up fine. I think it just forgot it was there or something but now I have to keep my eyes out for deals.

The date is 10-10-10
We'll probably still be around to see 11-11-11

The first year I remember someone pointing that out was 8-8-88. Damn, I'm old... ;)

I was alive for 7-7-77, but 6-6-66 was 2 years before my time.

I remember the time 12:34:56 on the date 07/08/09

No, not really I can't remember that date, just thought I would point out that it won't happen again.

I split the chain on my bike today, my knee hurts and looks like there's a tennis ball stuck in it and my ankle is bruised and won't support my weight as well as it would.

Sad thing is... you probably think I am joking don't you?

Seems I'm not the only one with a bicycle accident. Last week I had the unfortunate experience of being launched head first towards the pavement because my front fender snapped off (it was very rusty) and got stuck between the frame and the front wheel whilst I was cycling pretty hard, (I was late for a school meeting). Luckily the front wheel seems to have taken most of the impact, and I turned a little bit during the fall so it only bruised my shoulder. My front fork is completely warped though, and the dynamo snapped off, so I guess its time for a new bike (again, this is my 3rd bike in 3 years).

I do think I was lucky, especially seeing the state my bike is currently in. ;)

Years ago, I had a habit of riding my bike down some steps. These were 3-4 steps that I was riding down.
One day, the chain broke while I was trying to do this stunt, and somehow cut my upper lip. It hurt for awhile.
The chain was rusted and it just snapped that day. It was later replaced, then the bike was eventually sold.

Ah, but today is 101010 which is 42 in base10. 111111 isn't nearly as much fun.

That's the meaning of life, the Universe and everything! Maybe, you found the question?
(I know at lest one person on the forum should know what I am talking about).

Hitchhiker's Guide isn't obscure, brah. At least not to the extent you make it seem. It's about as mainstream and terrible as Star Wars. Sorry.

Aah, but I never did say it was obscure did I? On the other hand, I don't know how well known it is in other countries, given that it is a low-budget British series and very few of these air in other territories.

=THIRD WORLD COUNTRY=
PRO: No "Dr. Who", no "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy"
CON: Scarcity of food, water and other necessities, some have cruel dictators

I think we can safely say that the pros outweigh the cons in this comparison.

Hmm... I don't really see how that is relevant, I reckon you might have to put more effort than that into it to be honest. We have rather high standards around here.

Nontheless, you are entitled to your beliefs and freedom of speech.

Low Allegiance, you are a massive buzz kill. But welcome to the forums.

HT, Hitchhiker's Guide is not obscure. There was a movie made and globally syndicated 5 years ago.

I suspect, novels were the main force in making Guide well known.

Some people I knew thought the world would end at 09/09/99. Also people thought the power would go off at midnight 01/01/00. Idiots.

Expect it really was. Very funny. Plus the robot was so cool. ;)

Did you see the movie or the original series first? Usually people who see the movie first like it better, I saw the series first and I have a thing for cheap british TV (The Young ones, Red Dwarf and stuff like that).

In reality it's just a case of different people like different things.
