Wait, so theoretically, could you then import the whole games of Quake I and II and Unreal I with little work, to use modern lighting and physics?
The maps, yeah. I don't know if things like doors or elevators work without having to modify stuff, but I've asked about it (not that they would be hard to create anyways)
The rest of the games though would need to be recreated yourself, enemy AI, models, game code, etc etc.
In other words, you could instantly import Q1DM6, place new player starts and weapon spawns, and then play it in whatever project you are working on within a couple minutes. You don't need to recreate the maps from scratch.
