You have an overcomplicated idea about the experiment. It's possible to figure out the chemicals from the early atmosphere by cutting rocks deep down and analyzing them. The Miller–Urey experiment simply put these chemicals together and applied electric discharge, and resulted on rudimentary forms of life.

This kind of gets to the point that mathematicians (and statisticians) speak of that while the likelihood of something complex forming from nowhere is ridiculously small (to the point of near impossibility), the probably of something simple (read: basically anything) occurring is very high (to the point of near inevitability), and that would easily snowball into more and more complex events.

Whether there's a god or not, you can't deny that all religious practices are derived from man, not some higher being. All the sacred texts and everything are written by human beings, and the events that the texts are based on usually happend a considerable time before the writings actually took place. The point I'm trying to make is if there is a god, then he probably wouldn't care about all the rituals and things we do like going to church on sundays for example. Likewise if there's a heaven, it's probably enough to just live a good life and be nice to other people to get into it.

I'm agnostic btw, so I don't take part in any religion but likewise I don't 100% deny the existence of a possible god. Still, I'm a science guy.

Clearly you haven't read the Bible. Therefore, I personally do not acknowledge this

The trick is to believe what you want but recognize that you're probably just smelling your own bullshit.

Question everything!

There's only 1 correct religion, as sure as there is only 1 God, the rest are indeed bullshit.
And yes yes, we're all George Carlin here, his day of questioning has come to an end ;)

- If anybody here believes in anything paranormal ( ghosts, astral projection etc..)
and still don't believe in God, you haven't followed the rabbit hole far enough.

Zax, he meant it could have possibly been a trick to let the "aliens" have our planet. This crossed Charlie's mind because he thinks outside the box, way outside, hehe.

God created all creation folks, the confusion of that belief is the work of Satan.
and f*ck Tom Cruise..

Even Islam doesn't refute that Christ walked the earth, and Islam was created to be the direct opposition to Christianity.

There are only 2 sides, God and evil .. this middleground "oh I just don't know what to do" horseshit is embarassing :D I know this, because I used to be there as a child, as I got older, my mind matured and so did my faith.

You're certainly free to dislike that.

Although, taking the time to comment and leave emotion aside is preferred.

So I'll explain. Things like NDE, astral projection, lucid dreaming, paranormal, patterns in nature and the universe, the structure, the rules, the cycles, the coincidences, the history, the ancient architecture and much more point to more than just the plain existence of here and now and yesterday solely in this biological body.

THE DECEPTION, the deception and DNA manipulation going on, Geo engineering.. vaccines, read how much has gone on with crooked vaccines in the past I dunno, 75 years. After I think It was ww2, they brought nazi bastards into the US to continue the status quo, read up, but here we go with Godwins law.

There is simply too much going on geopolitically, do you guys not follow mainly what's going on with the planet/news and politics? Surely you must....? The shitlist of evidence to more than just this is huge.

Now observe the planet, what are the 2 MAIN religions headed towards? It seems they have made their intent clear.

and then this ALL points further towards the existence of God and then all that means.

Look at things like the flower of life and how basically all information, matter, frequency.. everything known to existence can be mathematically extracted out of it's symbol and how's it's been found across civilizations.

Shroud of Turin is interesting indeed... there's too much to this time here to be trapped in ignorance although perhaps some think I am? hah.. oh well.
I've been known to be observant and trust myself. Don't worry, I'm certain efforts have been made to keep you from believing as I do.

Close.
I imagined someone saying it in front of an audience "I'm the the light of the world too"; Hank walks to the light switch, turns off the light and says, OK I'll follow but where exactly are you? I doubt anyone but me thinks it funny, though ;) Besides my lack of formal education, I do have a language issue, so what ever, when in doubt, ask.

Do you ever pay attention? I was directing my comment towards CharlesT for consistently triple posting and cluttering up my small screen. I have no idea who he is, he just walked in a couple of weeks ago seeming drugged out of his mind and started triple-posting shit that is barely legible.

As for the whole religion debate, this is how I see the whole thing;
Posted Image

When I was a kid, I used to be religious, Christianity, but by age seven I got sent home from school because I attempted to disprove god in a lesson about scientific method. Around that time I started realizing the evidence, as it currently stands, does not support the existence of god and my mind being mostly logical slowly stopped believing, I asked for a sign but nothing ever happened and life just got worse. Surely a merciful god wouldn't let such horrible things happen? Surely he wouldn't allow such horrible people to exist, let alone create them in the first place? Seemed to me like a long string of physical interactions, chemical reactions and other phenomena lead to where we are today.

However, as I subscribe to science and it's methods, I say as I did several posts ago, that I invite anybody to prove me wrong, if people didn't do that with other matters we wouldn't be where we are today - there was a time when we thought light traveled infinitely fast and was made of particles, if somebody hadn't turned up to prove those people wrong we'd probably have some rather inefficient light bulbs by now...

Dude, it's The Wieder.. as in Charlie... @#(*%&@_(%^&@%()*_^@#%)_+(+)_O-,...

You said all that stuff and think of yourself so sure, yet ...

Look around, all sorts of bad shit happens, I would think for reasons. If bad things didn't happen how would we know what a good thing is?
Stop being so damn obsessed with light. It's like you literally arrived at sun worship in a shape and form and just stopped.
Sun worship is indeed pagan and not God. Interesting.. what other religions use sun worship symbolism?

btw: I've defeated every part of your cute little picture, especially considering you going on about how if it was real life you'd knock me out or whatever a few pages back. I think that could be considered violent but that's just me... not that I care, lol ALSO considering you've done your best to paint yourself as ill and feeble whereas I grew up and live on a farm and have been in way more fights than I care to mention and also knocked people out with 1 hit, elbow works nice, no broken bones that way, fights at bars, you name it.. Those days are behind me, I pray atleast.

Only time I've been knocked out was when I was 12, I was running down-hill full speed and a Lab, dog caught up and jumped on my back, I fell forward headlong into a pine tree with a 4ft diameter trunk. Was only out for a second but man it hurt.

Weider? I had him on my ignore list because of that crap. I guess I'll just give up as he'll probably make a third account and thwart that again. Something else regular members aren't supposed to do.

I'm so sure... Since when? I just said, prove me wrong. What is it with you and making shit up that I'm supposed to have said or is it what you wanted me to say? If you can provide a repeatable scenario that evidences to the contrary of my understanding of the universe, I will test it and try to disprove it. Once tested to a point where current knowledge can no longer disprove the theory I shall accept it.

Bad stuff happens for a reason? Depends on what you define as a valid reason, sometimes the reason is "good", but I'm sure the families of people killed by terrorists wouldn't be able to think of one. And I can't think of one for my dependence on medication. Your great god apparently created me with a flaw that would have killed me had medical science not found ways around it and you think I'm going to sit here and say it happened for a good reason? Bullshit, I didn't do anything to deserve that. I don't think it works the way you say it does and have a substantial level of evidence to back this up, meanwhile I can see little or no evidence to back up your theory.

Obsessed with light? Fine, why don't you stop being obsessed with this God? I'm merely using something that is rather well understood and observable as an example.

Edit: Another edit... What's that, are you supposed to be threatening me? I don't make threats son I make promises. If you remember back in that same post I said I didn't give a damn because it's the internet but here you are trying to escalate it. Thought you were bigger than that man... Alas, we observe the 'Become Hostile' prediction in action.

As a last note, FYI I grew up in what is officially the worst city to live in in the United Kingdom on two of the neighborhoods known for being most violent. If you think your out of touch bullshit is going to intimidate me you may as well stop, because I really couldn't care less.

even if this were true; this is the kind of pretentious bullshit that turns people off of religion. Let's pretend to know exactly what God thinks through some book written by people and translated half a dozen times so it doesn't say the exact same thing as the original. It's like that Chinese Whispers game (or telephone if you're a yank). By the time the stories got passed down several generations then finally put in writing, it probably was only a resemblance of the original. The Bible is a good guide-line, but some things should be taken in context of when and by whom they were written; not a verbatim direct word from God.

is that what you were told or did you actually read the Koran? I'm thinking the former since most of Muhammad's teachings and lessons are similar to Jesus' about love and compassion. The Koran doesn't condone violence anymore than the Bible.

Again, you're deciding my mood, what I've apparently done and said as well as deciding how I've done and said it. Do you have any social skills at all?

Whatever. But I'll give you some free advice, if you ever find yourself in a neighborhood like mine whatever you do, don't mouth off like you have here because you might not just be messing with the guy you're trying to insult, there's a fair chance you're actually messing with the whole neighborhood. Most people are NOT as tolerant as I am around here.

BTW: I have/had a muslim friend, actually he grew to be friends with my lil bro, sometimes we sit around a give a hoot ;) ..Him & I engage in some "deep" conversation, at first, he was and had been the nicest person that you would meet, nice to the parents, came off alittle too nice sadly. Now whenever we have these conversations he eventually gets wildly angry, it took a while though but it emerged. The first time it happened he went on persistently about "when an uncle rapes a child" blah blah to the point of implying it was him in this picture with tears in his eyes. Take of this what you will... I often argue people into anger.

It seems most of the opposition here places their faith in "science" .. not to be a dick but I have a scenario in my head jokingly where when one of you "science zoidies" die, an angel will greet you and you ask, who are you? .. It will reply, "I am science! Come with me!" ...

the flow of the conversation was about how anal some religious people can be and how they hinder the advancement of knowledge. You make a fine example.

surely you must be too busy to hang out on a forum. aren't there some books that need to be burned or a woman that needs to be put in her place?

Robman has a real thing for thinking people getting angry at him. Whether it's wishful thinking, scarring from abusive people in his past or some kind of ego problem I do not know. He shows an unfailing tendency to try and move things from a objective level to a personal, subjective level.

In reality, at least in my case, I actually find the whole scenario rather amusing. Mostly the parts where he kept taking the evasive, failing to answer questions with meaningful answers (if any at all) and then becoming passive-aggressive when his lack of social skills repeatedly let him down further - then again, I guess when you live in the middle of nowhere they are a little harder to develop.
