I couldn't last more than a few minutes of the video with that lame, stuttering show host.

That's crap. Religious people aren't the only ones who prosecute individuals for their sexual orientation

Did I implied it was?

No one prosecutes anyone for their sexual orientation (anymore) in the West.

vidiogame-phobia (word?) that's what came to mind.

I think you're awesome, Jeff. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you're one of my favourite posters on here. My best friend has Aspergers too. It doesn't bother me at all. My friend loves music and thanks to him we've got a band together because he would never shut up about doing music together.

Thank God I'm not your best friend. Last time I checked Patrick didn't give you a kick ass computer. He gave you anal warts.

As someone that spends less time here now, I find the forum often comes off as hostile when I visit. Jokes and a dark sense of humor are fine, I'm that way inclined myself. Heck, in the old days when there were a million gay jokes going around about us all being gay for one another it was funny, but these days if what people are saying about one another being retarded, autistic or whatever else is done jokingly, their jokes are very poorly executed.

In short, from the outside, this community doesn't look as good as it did, it's starting to feel less like Duke4.net and more like Sonic Retro and 4Chan over here, both of which I outright refuse to navigate my browser to.

Look, we're not being hostile.

This place just runs differently. If you act like a retard, you get called a retard.

Bryan needs to hit puberty. S.B. Newsom needed to stop acting like he was above everyone when he made crappy iOS games and couldn't use a command line. Mikko Sandt has acted like a dick, repeatedly to the point where he's a caricature now. Blue Lightning....'nuff said.

It's a three way circlejerk between me, Cody, and Jimmy. We aren't poz yet, but it's a game of chicken at this point.

I'm going to back off the Jew shit since everyone is sick of it. I'll still rip on them. I am edgy after all. Just not as much. Honestly I don't wanna drive people away who contribute four times as much as me to the community.

As for the furry, autism, and faggot jokes...I have two friends who have Aspergers, I don't care about furries, and I'm named after my gay great uncle who died of AIDS. I'm also openly (barely) bi and one of my friends is transgendered. I seriously couldn't give a rats ass what anyone's sexual preferences are. But if I'm cool with you, and you can take it, you'll get ripped on anyway.

I'm basically Sterling Archer with a moral compass, minus the bullet counting autism. Deal with it.

TL;DR lighten the fuck up.

I think the place "runs differently" in the sense that the moderators usually don't care about stuff like anti-semitism, profanity-filled tirades, animated GIFs, etc.. The few times I have seen someone here get banned, it's for being an absolute fuckwit incapable of any sort of actual productive contributions. In lieu of strict moderating policy, we (are supposed to) have the reputation system. That Viper and Jimmy have high reputations like they do means that nobody gives enough of a shit about their post content to get outraged or offended by it. Since moderation is so lax, it's really up to the other posters on this forum to decide what they want to see posted around here.

That's a fallacy; in my view the attitude is closer to "if I, mister internet cool guy, don't like your style, then I'll do my best to exaggerate your perceived vices and boost my ego at your expense, scoring brownie points from the peanut gallery in the process and abusing the term "PC" as an all-purpose shield against potential backlash".

That's not the point.

I don't consider myself a bigot and I don't think I've acted like one on this board, but if I were, for example, to go around continually posting acerbic racial stereotypes or take an image such as this for an avatar, I would expect to be held accountable.
It's not what you are or what you think, it's what you do.

This doesn't mean people should be serious all the time, that the boundaries of good taste can't be stretched and broken in places and that things should be taken out of context, but it seems that me that some here are more interested in their forum cred than the consequences of their behaviour.

you're dealing with people from different regions, background, ethnicity, sexual preference, religions, sense of humor, etc. (or lack thereof)

yes, there are certain individuals who behave a certain way - they find something prejudice orientated and run it into the ground, then move on to the next fad/meme
but assuming that they are actually biased or only target specific individuals without observing their patterns or noting that the intentions are in jest is being a bit stiff necked

anyway, screaming "intent!" is only going to end in a back-and-forth circle of "am not", "are so" arguing. don't blame the entire forum community for not policing up the people that bother you, use your ignore powers and move on

Official vision results are in. My vision is 20/25. They said I could see better without glasses, than I could with glasses. The optometrist said that due to a wandering eye, they couldn't get my vision to 20/20. So 20/25 is good enough for me.

Pretty much. If you have a problem with something speak up, my intentions around here are often only to have a giggle. if I don't like you I'm not going to beat around the bush, I'm going to make it abundantly clear. have a very strange sense of humour, and I'm rarely ever serious. Just remember I'm an idiot and that you should lighten up. This is the Internet don't take it seriously. TX has said before the only reason I haven't been banned permanently for certain things is because I know a lot of stuff about Duke 3d and its history.

I quote the official policy of this very forum
"Always remember that we are not responsible for any messages posted; we do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for their contents."

It is up to you to hold offending parties accountable, if you so chose, it is that simple. How? Glad you asked:
"Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary."

Hope this helps

"The game is rumored to feature only one of the Xenomorph aliens, which Amanda must avoid through most of the game while combating soldiers and clones."

Way to go Sega/Creative Assembly. You've only just released the first image of your new Alien game and it already sounds awful. Guess they didn't hear that one of the things universally hated about A:CM was the abundance of human antagonists. For fuck's sake, man.

AVP2-Queen Predalien
